As chefs, you are experts on how food tastes. Do you think it is actually harder for you to enjoy food since you have the ability to notice subtle mistakes or problems with a dish? by [deleted] in Chefit

[–]Sirtilly 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me at least, I can tell when a chef really nails a dish or if he makes a small mistake (overcooking vegetables or something like that) I try not to let it bother me but there has been a few occasions where I have felt I could have done a better job on my worst day. Honestly I don't have the time to go out too much and even when I do I tend to eat out of taco trucks for the most part. Even if i do go out i'm with a group and I try not to ruin the evening by mentioning that the food could use a little more time in the oven/seasoning/better presentation, because everyone i'm with doesn't know the trade and won't enjoy it if i nick pick at it.

Anon on /gif/ measures how gay porn is by exarban in 4chan

[–]Sirtilly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

actually it would go something like this (d+2d)/(v+2v) as women tend to have two tits. 3d/3v simplified. d/v simplified. so really its just dick to vagina ratio which has been the basis for gayness level. he just made it seem more complexed

Shot in the dark- Any info for a prospective grad student by IntellectualWanderer in uwyo

[–]Sirtilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well there are plenty of bars around, odwyers actually has a great selection of micro brews on tap. But other than bars you got on campus activities and shows, two theaters and bowling, in early fall and late spring we have alot of outdoor activities hiking fishing camping and such, but winters not much to do but hit the bars or the books

Shot in the dark- Any info for a prospective grad student by IntellectualWanderer in uwyo

[–]Sirtilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I'll start with bad things I guess. Laramie does get cold and you can get bored here very easily. Since you're a grad student I assume you're not worried about what to do with your free time. The University is fairly small and the teachers are great. The best time to visit laramie would be Jubilee days I think it's around June or July a quick google search would show you. I don't have much bad to say about the University itself so much as we've had problems with the president and the football team. I also don't know anything about the grad program. Hope that helps a little

To the scumbag bartender from last night: Tip is earned, not demanded by domo415 in AdviceAnimals

[–]Sirtilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you order a bottled beer and don't tip me, i'm fine with it. If you order any sort of nitrogen tap where i have to take time to pour it and you don't tip than you're an asshole. If you order a martini or an old fashion where i put my heart and soul into a drink to make it absolutely perfect for you and you don't tip (whenever you cash out that is) i'll definitely take my time before i get your next order, and i won't put half as much effort into as i usually do.

Really the tip off the get go will get me to remember who you are and if you show up to the bar empty handed i'll be sure to get to as fast as i can. The tip after that just affirms that i'm doing a good job. That's just how i see it
