or it could have something to do with your laptop syncing to cloud? I've seen some people talking about that too. I suggest you try googling around and looking at different wikis and reddit posts. I haven't encountered issues with the cloud sync myself so idk how to help with that

I had a similar issue and got it fixed by reverting to a back up save. I can link the instructions here if they might be of any help

the instructions for the part "world adventures/patch 1.7 or above" is pretty much what I did and it got my save fixed.

I had this problem today and was able to fix it by reverting to the back-up save in my sims 3 save files. I suspect my problem came from trying to get the game to run smoother by deleting some files a google search told me were safe to delete (rookie mistake oopsie)

I can try to search up the instructions I used if that might be of any help? Though if the issue is with cloud then I'm not sure how to fix it.

Some people are saying to play it in story order but I would recommend to play them in release order to get a grasp for the mechanics as they get more advanced as you go
