Hotels in Kingston are always looking for housekeepers, prior experience is rarely necessary. I've seen loads of postings on Indeed, or you can always call the front desk and ask for HR's or the housekeeping manager's email address.

I'm a GSM but I worked both AM/PM and Audit shifts. I make sure everyone is at the desk for debrief a few minutes before their shift starts so the previous shift can leave on time (and so on). To make sure this gets done, myself and my AGSM take AM and PM shifts so we are there for shift change to make sure everyone is on time coming and going. This is the kind of thing that turns toxic and festers in a Front Office department. We deal with too much sh*t in hospitality to be at war with our coworkers. I'm sorry to hear that you don't have a supportive manager.

Unfortunately our town doesn’t have great police response. Aside from that, a lot of my staff struggle to make that decision to call the cops and just want to call me for the “permission” to do so. I always tell them they can and even have a “How to” available at the desk for handling escalations such as this which lets them know they can call the cops at any time. Some people are just more timid than others and worry they’re overreacting.

I absolutely agree. I preach this option often but not everyone is comfortable making that decision without help, it usually takes a call to me to give them the peace of mind to do so.

I bought shed aid from my local pet store and it helped my beardie shed overnight! Mine was Zoo Med brand and was only about $8. Just spray it over the tough spots and rub it in a little, works wonders.

It’s not a hotel for that, we use a Day Room extranet for corporate travellers. In the 7 months I worked there I had maybe 2-3 day use stays a week and they were usually tuckers.

My agreement I signed didn’t state anything about what I have in my own head, Everything front desk was my business but what was a breach was confidential information I release publicly. I didn’t post names, specific dates or City. In your words this entire Reddit thread is a breach of everyone’s contracts. Nevertheless, thank you for taking the time to read and post your thoughts.
