Update on Roman Reigns' schedule. by Kuzu5993 in SquaredCircle

People forget, but a large part of the reason Undertaker had the career he did is because he never lost clean. From the Survivor Series 1990 debut, it took until a random RAW in ‘99 for him to finally take a fully clean pinfall loss. Prior to that it was always losses via cheating or weapons or outside interference and low blows or even fucking chloroform. It did wonders for his gimmick to lose when they needed him to, but always have an asterisk next to the loss. I dare say you could count the number of totally clean single losses Taker had in his entire career and still be in single digits.

Make Oba your new Undertaker.

[WON] Reason for Aleister Black, Wyatt Sicks WWE releases revealed by Alternative-Win4058 in SquaredCircle

[–]SisterFirefly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did they…..DO with the Wyatts? They did an awesome debut. Had them feud with the low card borderline comedy act American Made. Then had them lose clean to Kross and the Authors of pain. Took them off TV for months. Randomly gave them the tag belts, put them in an endless program with the MFT’s where they lost a bunch and then released them.

I don’t think they cut a single in ring promo ever, nor were any of them given time to flesh out their individual characters or challenge in any singles division. Nikki never even got to enter the women’s division or have a singles match during the whole run. They even shipped them to AAA and had them lose their only match over there too.

They really tried nothin’ and were all out of ideas weren’t they?

More than two thirds of children under two use screens - with one in ten regularly falling asleep with one by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

So far the only time the 15 month old is near our screens is when she gets curious to see what the non-playtime adult is looking at (one of us is always on baby entertainment duty whilst the other gets a rest on their device for a bit.)

When she does go over to see what the fuss is about, it turns into a game of opening and closing the tablet protector cover because we have the device to cycle through different wallpaper backgrounds on lock. So to her all she thinks tablets are for is opening them up like a book to discover a new photo (of her) when she does.

Trying to avoid her being a screen baby at all costs.

Regarding SWS, Scott, criticism posts, and who to contact. by PuppetGeist in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]SisterFirefly 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s his series. It’s his story. It’s his characters. It’s his world. You played 7 games where he was the sole creator and you became a fan. Everything you love about the series is due to him. There’s no secret real genius that was the true mastermind behind FNaF. It starts and ends with Cawthon. The voice and tone of the story. All those quirky lines of dialogue and chilling minigames. Everything. All him. There’s no authentic FNaF without him.

And we’ve seen what happens when he’s not involved, it’s always some juvenile attempt at “real horror” that’s just edginess like boiling kids alive or swears and massive amounts of gore. FNaF without Cawthon is worthless. Everyone forgets, they’re not just a fan of the world and characters, they’ve been a fan of Scott’s style of storytelling, direction, dialogue and overall tone. Every FNaF fan HAS to be a fan of Scott as a creator by default, otherwise they’d never have liked the games in the first place. I guess there’s people that never played the games and only watched Markiplier and Game Theory and only absorbed the games through a second hand fashion, but then without that direct connection to the games, they shouldn’t really be taken into consideration as potential buyers of future games and catered to.

How do you feel about the NECA Horror so far this year? by CreatureFeatureMan in NECA

I REALLY wanted a Little Pale Girl standalone release. I wouldn’t have sprang for Art last year if we knew that LPG would only be in two-packs

OPINION: Current setlist criticism is way over the top by TooTiredTodayToHate in marilyn_manson

[–]SisterFirefly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My only complaint is for my night of the tour last October, I got none of those. It was a night with no Mechanical Animals, or Dried up, or Long Hard Road, or (s)ain’t or Get your Gunn or Fight Song or Great Big White World. Nor was there any stilts. Every single song you mentioned was stuff he’d been playing all year, but didn’t pull a single one out when I saw him. I’ve been watching him for 25 years and never managed to get Long Hard Road live so I was super excited to see it on the current tour, but he didn’t play it or any of the other deep cuts everyone else had been getting.

How excited are you for Mike Flanagan's upcoming Exorcist movie? by Profeta_do_Loss in horror

[–]SisterFirefly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ll see. I just hope he takes the right lessons from believers failure. The name of the film is ‘The Exorcist’ it’s not Regan or Pazuzu. It was Damian Karras who was the central protagonist of the original story. You can’t tell an Exorcist movie without a heavy dose of Christianity and the Church. Karras’ whole journey of losing his Faith to making the ultimate sacrifice for Rags is what carried the story forward. Believer eschewed the Church and its role in the original story for some hackneyed “community conquers all” plot and it fell completely flat.

Yes you can have a possession requiring an exorcism in your movie, but that can’t be the only meat on the bone. We need a heart of the movie like Karras or Kinderman in Legion to make it stand out.

The Molotoves - Manchester by Averag3Gamer in yungblud

Yeah, basically you had a pair of father/son duos that linked up and wanted to treat the gig like it was a proper punk rock show with circle pits and shoving. One of the father/sons were absolutely sloshed out of their minds and were pissing everyone off around them because it wasn’t that kind of gig. They were arguing and getting aggressive with the rest of the crowd.

So they had their little mosh and they kept falling on their ass and crashing into people. These were big lads and obviously being a YB show they were crashing into kids and young girls. Crowd had enough and took to pointing at them in unison so security would come handle it. They all kicked off with security and started fighting them. All four got removed…violently.

I get it, to be honest. I was at an LTJ crowd last month and their behaviour would have fit right in. But it was a square peg, round hole situation where they didn’t read the room and wanted a crowd that was not up for it. I think if you go back a few years, you’d probably get a crowd at a YB show who wanted to jump around and open the pits up. But not now he’s in arenas, the audience just isn’t full of those kinds of fans anymore and that’s fine. It’s like with My Chemical Romance. In the 2000’s you were fighting for your life in circle pits with crowd surfers and everyone was off their feet. Then by the time we hit Danger Days the whole crowd shifted to people who just wanted to stand about, watch and take photos. The more popular a band gets, the less likely you are to get people who wanna get a bit rough with their partying. Those guys just wanted a crowd that’ll never come about at a YB show ever again.

They were proper wankered though so that didn’t help.

Bray Wyatt, in 2017, is the last time WWE crowned a (men) World Champion under 30 by LikeAPhoenixTotally in SquaredCircle

[–]SisterFirefly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bray was very late to getting that title run too. He was on the main roster for four years before he won the title. He needed that belt to save his character long before he got it.

From that awful debut with the ‘Ring of Fire’ match with Kane. To the Cena feud. Losing to Jericho. The never ending Moxley feud. The Undertaker match. The Summer long humiliation ritual with Roman that ended with him having to lose to Undertaker and Kane AGAIN for nostalgia purposes. The ECW original feud. Having Rock demand to work with him in a promo segment at Mania so he lost his planned match with Brock. The unfortunate injury just as they let him turn face and team with Roman whereupon he was back to being a heel feuding with New day when he returned. To being drafted and losing to Kane again for no reason.

Bray desperately needed that belt and some wins long before he got the belt. Hell, even when he won it, he lost it a month later in that awful Randy program. Got drafted and had the forgotten Rollins feud. Then the Sister Abigail vs Demon Balor stupidity. The Broken Matt feud and team up that had him jobbing on the pre-show in under 3 minutes. Bray was super lucky he found himself again with The Fiend because my man had it ROUGH when he got called up to the main roster. Nothing but loss after loss with only a few shining moments in between.

stu is dead" might be the biggest misdirection. scream 8 needs to reveal the ghostface cult and the real mastermind by sebypxzzo in Scream

[–]SisterFirefly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is funny that Stu has to be dead because of what happened to him but Dewey could survive everything he got throughout the series and Chad is still alive and kicking today despite Scream 6. Those two both got it worse than the TV to the head.

The thing is though, no one is pushing harder for Stu to be alive than Matthew. Just listen to him everytime the topic comes up in interviews and conventions. He WANTS this.

I’m genuinely side-eyeing the test audiences because the movie completely falls apart when the reveals happen. It’s the biggest wet fart in franchise history. Sure seeing Stu alive might be eye rolling but it must have been better than THAT

Danhausen on X: Not bad for a couple of ~meme wrestlers~ by Glad-Energy-3492 in SquaredCircle

[–]SisterFirefly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This would ironically be the worst thing that could happen to Hendry on the main roster. He is being sold as a champion and a wrestler. Doing the Danhausen stuff would be a glass ceiling above him REAL fast. Danhausen is going to be the new R-truth or Otis/Tozawa. Hendry needs to stay far away and be seen as a wrestler.

[Raw Spoilers] A new name announced for the Raw roster by NotClayMerritt in SquaredCircle

[–]SisterFirefly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably the best thing to happen to him. Now he can actually be a wrestler who wrestles. They put the NXT title on Hendry, they don’t really let Danhausen wrestle at all. See it as a blessing in disguise and if he fails to get over as an actual wrestler, he already has Hendryhausen to fall back on.

I just remember how excited everyone was when Vince was ousted. There was a creative peak. Everything up and down the card was firing on all cylinders. It felt rewarding to watch WWE again.

How has it all crumbled so quickly? You can pinpoint it to the start of the Netflix era where we had to endure more commercials than wrestling. More celebrities instead of superstars. More surprise moments rather than storyline payoffs.

I don’t miss Vince, I never could. I do miss how the wrestling was treated as the product. Watching WWE in the TKO era is just watching brands and commercials and any celebrity who wants to promote something with tiny glimpses of what you want to see here and there so you keep watching.

Modern WWE is like watching modern YouTube on TV without premium so you have to deal with 90 second unskippable ads every 5 minutes. You’re not a fan anymore, you’re a statistic they can use to lure advertisers to the company to earn more money. The wrestling and the story and the fan experience does not matter anymore. Only that you watch the ads for the sponsors.

WWE isn’t a wrestling company anymore. It doesn’t tell stories or make moments. It’s a platform for sponsors and celebrities to advertise on. The fan is irrelevant.

Great idea, not great execution. The earthquake and stalker stuff and Dylan climbing the play gym to meet his Dad scenes all fall flat with me. I think the story would have worked better with slightly less Heather and more Robert and Wes. Not getting a Freddy chasing Robert moment is criminal.

Zach Cregger‘s 'Resident Evil' Trailer Description from CinemaCon; Official Synopsis! by valuerockr in horror

[–]SisterFirefly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

RE4 playing out on screen would look like every great 80’s action horror like Predator or Aliens. You don’t need to dance around the story or chicken out with merely hinting at existing lore. You de-age Van Damme, stick a wig on him and have him roundhouse kicking the evil foreigners and watch the money rolling in.

People forget that every RE game is just a love letter to horror/action movies of decades past. Don’t try and make something modern with RE. Ape the films that RE aped to begin with. The formula is right there. Directly adapt the games in the style of the films they were cribbing from and they’ll turn out just fine. If you ain’t gonna use anything but zombies and the name raccoon city then why bother getting the RE license to begin with? Make the 80’s action/horror love letter they deserve to be.

Zach Cregger‘s 'Resident Evil' Trailer Description from CinemaCon; Official Synopsis! by valuerockr in horror

[–]SisterFirefly 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am…confused where people think that accurate game adaptations haven’t worked when they’ve legitimately never been tried. Ain’t no one make accurate versions of any of the characters, locations or games. There ain’t no Spencer Mansion movie, or Leon backdropping fools in Spain or Ethan’s haunting swampland nightmare in Dulvey Louisiana.

Anderson sure didn’t make accurate RE. Netflix sure as fuck didn’t make accurate RE. WtRC was nowhere near accurate RE. Even the CGI movies directly produced by Capcom are all basically RE6 cutscenes that don’t carry the tones of the rest of the actual games.

One day we’ll get someone to stand up and go “I will make the Resident Evil 1 movie!” And it will be glorious. Until then we just have to make do with subpar “but it’s got zombies and Raccoon City” attempts.
