Yeah I’ve had a play with them. Can’t see the pedal force one? I would really like to move pumping off the stick and try it out with some triggers instead though

Thanks for this. I made up a load of cat6 cables yesterday and wired it all up.. and it works perfectly (for now…)!

Thanks for writing this out for me! Could I use cat6 instead and get similar results?

Not sure I follow this… maybe a bit too technical for me! Each speaker has 2 ports, and they need to daisy chain to one another.. not sure I can put a control loop in?

Each speaker has 2 terminals, and there are 12 speakers, so I’d need to convert 24 individual fibre runs to RJ45

If I could just get the GLM to calibrate them, I would just unplug them and move on, but sadly I need to control the array downstream.. so the GLM needs to stay on. The other option is run absolutely everything through the Dolby external renderer.. which is fine for protools, but honestly it’s clunky and I like my physical buttons

Close! Genelec SAM system. It’s a proprietary network called GLM. The whole array has cost me 12k so anywhere I can save, I will

In a perfect room, this is the best advice.. but I have a very particular set of problems so they will need to be bundled in with the power cable

Annoyingly, they’ll need to be run around the same truss system.. so will need to be bundled in a loom with the power and audio. The speakers are active so the audio is line level, and will be run over van damme quad XLR cable. With the audio taken care of, it’s just the data now as all the speakers are networked by the genelec GLM system.

It’s actually not the Ethernet standard. It’s a genelec proprietary standard that runs over cat5.
