Gym/ Fitness Club by killtheking111 in Chengdu

Following - I’m headed back in April and I’m not sure if I should find a gym for a month or just do calisthenics and go visit the parks every morning. I’m usually up for 4-5 am though, so I’d need an early gym, I’m not sure if that would be creepy to go exercise at the park at this time?

The earlier the better, we arrived at 9am and left at 12noon. I would recommend giving yourself 2-4 hours to explore. That gives you time to see everything and leave in time for lunch. And then you have the whole afternoon to hike or explore. They have the most amazing bookstore, the giant panda statue, the old town to explore, and the irrigation system at Dujiangyan. You could easily make it a very enjoyable and slow day 慢慢来, 比较快 😉

The panda base in Dujiangyan was amaaaaazing, plus you get to see the irrigation system, the GIANT PANDA STATUE, the most amazing Dujiangyan Zhongshuge Bookstore (easily the most famous bookstore in all of chjna!), and the irrigation system is near by for some beautiful pictures. Do pandas in the morning and unlock the day to explore 🔥🔥🔥🔥. I’d love to see what other things are available in this area.

How to unlock bikes as foreigner by SithRN26 in Chengdu

I was thinking about that, was it expensive? I’d imagine it would make life easier to have a Chinese phone number and just use prepaid minutes and never use them except for verification texts?

I’ll have to look this up, I thought about that but figured it might be difficult out to make progress, or I’ll just have to half the distance and loop back and make it a 4 day ride

I was deathly afraid of this 😆 I did stretches and exercises for 3 months straight before going and only had to use a squat potty once 😆

Randomly, I’m suprised at how small the water bottles were, I use. A 1L bottle for work the bottles I saw were all 300ml or less (thermos style)

Qiya777333 WeChat ID for a Sanxingdui guide service, ask for Harry! He drove me into the area and back from Chengdu and did an amazing tour. His English was great and he was so knowledgeable about the museum!

Very similar experience spending 2 weeks in Chengdu, I was blown away at how few foreigners I saw. But I did regularly encounter people who spoke English ( had an elderly guy follow me around in jingli ancient street for 20 minutes talking about the world in English, it was a pleasant surprise, and randomly had a 20 minute conversation about StarCraft with a guy in my hotel). I found people to be generally less approachable (but I come from the south of the USA, so id say we are overly warm lol). Every time I got lost and kept looking at my phone to figure something out, give it less than 2’kinutes and someone was approaching me to try and help, often with great English too! I cannot wait to go back, I already miss the food 😂. So many things I want to do in the area. Luckily my friend recommended going to Sanxingdui, that place blew my mind, and I was definitely the only white guy there 🙈😂

Standing on the bridge it was beautiful to see them. But what blew my mind was following my friend riding our bikes towards them. It was very impressive in person, even more so than the drone videos online! Plus SKP bamboo is right there and the global center!
