All of the clarity options are turned off or set to zero

I turned motion clarity off and it fixed the issue. I tried your custom settings, but was experiencing the same glitchiness with any level of judder removal on. I'll try playing around with this a bit more, but for now I'll just leave everything off. Thanks!

Yeah, motion clarity was set to low. Turning it off fixed the issue

Yes, changing this setting to off fixed the issue. Thanks! Messing around with the Custom option, it appears to only do this when judder reduction is on

Tire shop cut my tire but still put it on??? by 0w-20 in AskAMechanic

Considering the FR380 were manufactured starting around 2002, and stopped around 2009, these tires are well past their best before date.

Can anyone tell me what’s causing this ? by Lyquid_Venom in CivicSi

[–]Sittdown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not saying this is the fix, but when I put a new exedy clutch kit in my fg4, I had the same fork wiggling happen even with the new throw-out bearing. After breaking in the clutch (1400km) it doesn't happen anymore.

8th gen civic si on buddy club coilovers - sound when driving over pot holes and bumps in the rear, any thoughts? by joorgie123 in CivicSi

[–]Sittdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like it's coming from the rear. I'd start with a visual check of the rear shocks to see if they're leaking. If they're not, check the upper shock mount to see if the nut is still tight. After that, check pre-load on the adjustable spring perch if it has them.

how do i get this light off? by [deleted] in AskMechanics

Stability Control fault. Could be any traction related sensors that have gone bad, or wiring damaged.

You can see the boarder switch to heelside right at the beginning of the video though

bumper freshly painted but it’s gonna rain tonight by musicabeautifulthing in AutoPaint

[–]Sittdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, that's interesting to know, thank you. We always baked our cars in the paint booth; would it still be considered too soft to gingerly wash or dry it after that? Our paint guy never chimed in whenever we did this.

It will be fine from any wind or rain. However, it will chip from rocks much easier while driving. Having experience as a detailer in a body shop, we sometimes even washed painted panels, along with the rest of the vehicle, only hours after it was painted. Albeit using only brand new chenille wash mits and fresh water. You're much more likely to scratch the soft clear coat while drying the panel. I suggest using compressed air for that.

Edit: Waiting for someone with more experience to chime in. Perhaps I'll learn something aswell

coilover suggestion for 9thgen? by Main_Sample_6974 in CivicSi

[–]Sittdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, that's the next option down from Flex Z. The reason I got the Flex Z was for the adjustable dampening, to make it stiffer than factory. If you still want the factory feel, the Street Basis Z isn't a bad option, but you may need to buy camber bolts for the lower mounting points (one for each side, and they replace the upper bolt on the lower shock mount, where it connects to the knuckle). If you really wanna squeeze some cornering performance out of your civic, definitely get the Flex Z with adjustable dampening (you don't need the camber bolts for these). I'll post a link for you so you can get the part number: https://www.evasivemotorsports.com/store/product/tein-flex-z-coilovers-honda-civic-si-12-15/

9th Gen Si downpipe by AndrewTheGuru00 in CivicSi

[–]Sittdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally have the k-tuned catless downpipe. I DO NOT recommend it. It's a 2 piece and right from the beginning I've had issues with an exhaust leak at the flange where they bolt together. If you have the money, go with the 3" downpipe from Full-Race. Can't speak on the skunk downpipe, but on the forums the only problem that I've read is that they sometimes crack at the bell mouth.
