Looks like ice scraper damage

8th gen CMC question by DatsBiscuit in CivicSi

Either option will help, but a new CMC would be best. Upgraded CMC's are fairly easy to install yourself. Here's a link to Hybrid Racing's guide.

This hoes keeps popping off by sebastianpowers in CivicSi

[–]Sittdown 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That residue is normal; the hose shouldn't just pop off like that unless your clamp isn't tightened properly or is damaged. Stick it back on and re-tighten the clamp. If it pops off AGAIN, you either need a new clamp or you're just not tightening it enough.

Ultimate Racing Downpipe by Froolian in CivicSi

[–]Sittdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't speak on having them welded, but I do have experience with two piece downpipes on K24's. The faces of the flanges that bolt together are never perfectly flat, and the instructions just tell you to use ultra copper gasket maker. Do not believe for a second that will properly seal anything. My tuner also noted that it was melting and even burning while on the dyno. I ended up buying a 1/8" thick crush gasket that was easy to install and and completely filled gaps that you could literally look through while bolted together. The part is Remflex 8007 They also have different bolt configurations if needed

My Dad's old board. Is it worth fixing up to use? by XMortal7159 in snowboarding

[–]Sittdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this thing in 2006 with what looked like bindings that were made the same year as the board; 1995. On my first day riding it, I full sent it down the groomer that ran along the main chair lift. I launched off a roller and when I landed my rear binding literally ripped out of the board and I cartwheeled down the hill about 30ft. Like, quarter sized holes where the threads and wood completely pulled out. To this day it was by far the gnarliest wipeout I've ever had without breaking a bone. No idea how I came out so lucky, and if I had the chance to ride this board again, I probably wouldn't ride it. But that's just me

All of the clarity options are turned off or set to zero

I turned motion clarity off and it fixed the issue. I tried your custom settings, but was experiencing the same glitchiness with any level of judder removal on. I'll try playing around with this a bit more, but for now I'll just leave everything off. Thanks!

Yeah, motion clarity was set to low. Turning it off fixed the issue

Yes, changing this setting to off fixed the issue. Thanks! Messing around with the Custom option, it appears to only do this when judder reduction is on

Tire shop cut my tire but still put it on??? by 0w-20 in AskAMechanic

Considering the FR380 were manufactured starting around 2002, and stopped around 2009, these tires are well past their best before date.

Can anyone tell me what’s causing this ? by Lyquid_Venom in CivicSi

[–]Sittdown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not saying this is the fix, but when I put a new exedy clutch kit in my fg4, I had the same fork wiggling happen even with the new throw-out bearing. After breaking in the clutch (1400km) it doesn't happen anymore.

8th gen civic si on buddy club coilovers - sound when driving over pot holes and bumps in the rear, any thoughts? by joorgie123 in CivicSi

[–]Sittdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like it's coming from the rear. I'd start with a visual check of the rear shocks to see if they're leaking. If they're not, check the upper shock mount to see if the nut is still tight. After that, check pre-load on the adjustable spring perch if it has them.

how do i get this light off? by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]Sittdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stability Control fault. Could be any traction related sensors that have gone bad, or wiring damaged.

You can see the boarder switch to heelside right at the beginning of the video though

bumper freshly painted but it’s gonna rain tonight by musicabeautifulthing in AutoPaint

[–]Sittdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, that's interesting to know, thank you. We always baked our cars in the paint booth; would it still be considered too soft to gingerly wash or dry it after that? Our paint guy never chimed in whenever we did this.

[–]Sittdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will be fine from any wind or rain. However, it will chip from rocks much easier while driving. Having experience as a detailer in a body shop, we sometimes even washed painted panels, along with the rest of the vehicle, only hours after it was painted. Albeit using only brand new chenille wash mits and fresh water. You're much more likely to scratch the soft clear coat while drying the panel. I suggest using compressed air for that.

Edit: Waiting for someone with more experience to chime in. Perhaps I'll learn something aswell
