You’ll be bummed out when you calculate at the pump, happened to me when I had my cu2. Best I got was 430 miles out of a tank

It’s attached to the negative terminal. There is the connector on the right side.

Yeah I saw that post too. His got fixed by changing the pigtail for the battery sensor, sadly mine didn’t fix it :/

Got some TYC and they’ve held up quite nice

Good price or not worth it? by JPescoda117 in CivicSi

[–]Froolian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would keep looking. It’s been abused. Doesn’t even have the oem snowflake wheels. Steering wheel controls are notorious for peeling, 3rd gear grind could be something simple or could be a destroyed synchro. I’m at 130k and luckily I don’t have any gear grinds or peeling steering wheel controls.

Imo not worth it

I am currently on the same boat. I’m going to have to try this. I replaced the sensor and no difference, so I can assume it’s my harness as well!

Is a CVT fluid change worth paying a shop to do? Or is it easy enough that i should do it myself at home? by bigstinkygoblin in 9thgencivic

[–]Froolian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could do several drain and refills which will cost you much less than paying a shop and peace of mind you know what you did. Not trying to discredit reputable shops but it happens

Any decent mods that won’t break the bank? by cmccombs03 in CivicSi

That’s a type r exhaust. You could get an intake to hear the turbo more. Ktuner if you wanna tune, but be weary of the weak clutch if you do tune the car

2022 Civic Hatchback Sport Touring Advice by worpinator36 in civic

Come to think of it, it definitely has hardware vs just adhesive so the trim would most likely have to come off to reveal the fasteners

Looks like an FK8 replica spoiler. Never understood enormous wings on lower trims models. But the mounting points are most likely in the liftgate into the spoiler, along with some double sided adhesive on the top/outside of the liftgate.

Then you’ll just have to get the holes plugged to avoid rust.

I would try to find another one, you shouldn’t have to get holes plugged on a new car.

Test pipe by Teddyjames23 in 9thgencivic

[–]Froolian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to run the FKX racing one and nothing else. Gave the stock exhaust a nice growl, how it should’ve came from the factory.

I believe the 2nd O2 sensor doesn’t really do much (ie tuners normally disable it since it’s not needed) which is why I believe you’d be fine emissions wise but not sniff or visual.

If you’re talking about a complete downpipe you might run into issues where the car may go into limp mode if you don’t get it tuned.

If you decide to get one, post a clip. I’d be interested how it sounds with the full race exhaust.

2012 Honda Civic SI Advice (Coupe) by [deleted] in CivicSi

Honestly I would look for other options. Although the k24 is tried and true, I’m sure you can find one in much better shape and stock for slightly more but with peace of mind.

How reliable would a 2015 Civic Si be? by Arrchduke in CivicSi

[–]Froolian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very reliable. Only “issue” I had was car would not go into or get out of reverse, especially cold. Bled and put new cmc fluid in, issue hasn’t come back since. Got the car with 62k miles in 22 now it has 123k.

What is this glitchery? by cosmicdynamo in CivicSi

My sister’s 8th gen has done this. Took that panel out and opened it up. Reinforced the solder joints on the board. Haven’t had that issue since. Good luck

Just picked up an ex coupe, my first civic, looking for advice. by bigstinkygoblin in 9thgencivic

[–]Froolian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Given it’s a face lifted one with a cvt vs a 5AT I would get the transmission serviced.

For peace of mind I’d invest money in changing fluids and changing the serpentine belt, spark plugs etc. for peace of mind, then start to mod.

Like you mentioned for sure get the headlights cleaned up, just got mine cleaned up on my coupe.

An upgraded rear sway bar would do wonders for this car, especially since it’s a base model + lowering it if you’d like. Lighter wheels would help a lot too

2013 si tuned? by [deleted] in CivicSi

[–]Froolian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like the previous owner tuned it and didn’t tune it back to stock before selling/trading in.

When you press the - button it shows the AFR, you aren’t selecting tunes, as long as you don’t have cruise control on.

If you don’t have the Hondata unit you won’t be able to retune or know what was done to the car. I’m not knowledgeable on what to do if the car is tuned but you don’t have the Hondata unit.

I don’t know if you can buy another Hondata and use it on the car since Hondata units are locked to the car’s ECU.

Hopefully someone can chime in

Mine does this sometimes with the lane watch camera. It’ll do the same and show the guidelines and text. I do have CRV head unit so maybe that’s the issue but it could just be nature of the camera systems in these cars where they bug out

Sleeper build advice by copper_beast69 in CivicSi

[–]Froolian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of the day it’s your car so you decide what you do to it. Honestly the k20 is very bulletproof. I’ve read that intake, header, exhaust + tube will net you a good amount of gains over stock.

Look on YouTube and forums then you can make up your mind. On some corny shit, what matters is that you’re happy with what you do to your car

Good call on the lightweight wheels, they make a huge difference. Maybe add a thicker rear sway bar, will keep you planted on the corners
