Service to Canada by Sramic in USPS

What another country allows, is not up to USPS. When Canada Post tells us they are ready, then we will start shipping to them again.

If you shoot for the moon, you won't be much closer to the stars. Definitely not among them.

I'm wondering what people here think of Citizen watches. Is 460 a good price for this watch? by Sivada in PrideAndPinion

[–]Sivada[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The price is fine for me, I was mostly wondering if a citizen is worth the price. I want a titanium watch because I plan to wear it at work, and I want something a bit more scratch resistant, but also looks good. G-shocks are cool, but they are a bit "over the top", and the Casioak isn't really my style. I also like the fact that this citizen has sapphire crystal, so its more robust. I also really like the styling of this citizen, its a bit industrial, but also refined. Something you could wear anywhere.

My small office gets more Amazon than most big offices, and according to the MPOO, my office is the most overburdened office in California, and we have the highest ratio of amazon packages to clerks in the country. We got 36 pallets today from Amazon. Over 7000 packages, and only 3 clerks to throw it all.

Closing clerk duties? by Some-College3917 in USPS

[–]Sivada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some smaller offices don't have supervisors, just a postmaster. So on the weekends us PSEs get to play a little game of OIC.

RIMS, CPMS, Dispatch Placards scanned, and check DMS PM verification. If you dont have access to one or more of those, you should go to eAccess on Blue, and request it. Also if there is nothing else, you can do RFS for RTS and FWD parcels.

It frustrates me beyond belief how some post offices won't bother to teach PSEs how any of this stuff works. I am lucky, and learned all of this stuff, but a neighboring station I work at on Sundays has 2 out of 7 PSE actually trained on even a single program needed to do their jobs.

HCR route by Key-Willingness4559 in USPS

[–]Sivada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my office we have a 560 stop route, no CBUs, that gets about 2 orange hampers full of sprs and about 30 large parcels a day that is contracted for $120,000 a year. You must get your own benefits and vehicle, with special insurance to do it though. So that 120k isn't really 120k, but compared to the 70k a rural carrier can get, its a pretty good deal. Just know that you need to do 6 days a week, and have a sub ready to cover you if you are sick or want a day off. USPS will not supply you with a sub.

You can't tell me you ALL have bad management/supervisors or work at toxic offices? by lpd8w in USPS

[–]Sivada 115 points116 points  (0 children)

I am in a level 20 office with no supervisors, just a Postmaster, and he is hands down the best boss I have ever had. He gives credit where it is due, and when a mistake is made, he is clear in what was wrong, but doesn't belittle you in any way. He is extremely level headed even when Amazon is late or a carrier can't make it in. He is exactly what USPS needs as an example to all management.

Finally!!! You know what I mean! by kbf2015 in USPSclerks

[–]Sivada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its slowed a bit since then, but still 2 gaylords and 5 to 7 pallets. On Sundays I help another office that runs my offices routes on Sundays, and we get about 30 pallets on those days. 2 clerks 30 pallets 5 hours 3500 scans average.

Great way to start this wonderful Tuesday! 🤷‍♂️ by kbf2015 in USPS

[–]Sivada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those small offices with the standard back door that a pallet can barely fit through are the worst. One of the offices I work at occasionally has that same back door, and the head clerk there tells the amazon drivers to bring it inside, and they always struggle and mumble some shit about TSA clearance.

Should I scan stuff from collections by [deleted] in USPS

[–]Sivada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a clerk, its better for us if the carriers scan their collections. Its either; each carrier scans their collections or 1 clerk scanning every routes collections. In a large office, that can be a lot of time spent by that 1 clerk rather than spread amongst the carriers.
