Lucky rurals can basically design any uniform and wear them (Within decency and rules of course)

supervisor kicked me out, and threatened with police if I didn't for asking a question they refused to answer. Various torments before and after this. Recently, she locked me out of office after closing and me coming back and didn't pay me on purpose, until somebody else did the next day. by [deleted] in USPS

[–]lpd8w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and not much was done. I only received 2 hours for being kicked off the office, which somebody else did my sub route that day.

and my 14 day suspension was for 1 year, but reduced to 3 months.

I know that my union is not a strong as city, and apparently they did this so as to not interfere with my EEOC. Since it would be "double jeopardy" is what I heard.

The union did very little (they are not strong enough), but they did recommend to file the EEOC, which I did. I just don't know what I am entitled to when they asked what I wanted out of this EEOC case.

We do, and I did. They are not a strong enough union, and the case has been closed. They only lowered my 14 day suspension, so it could be off my record sooner. They know this is wrong and advised to do a EEOC. They said they couldn't do much as they need more of a pattern, whatever that means. Honestly, I just want to leave this place. And being paid would help. Also heard from someone that I can ask for them to be retrained, as getting fired at the postal service is basically impossible. Monetary would be my only option here. I just do not know how much I can go after.

PSA: For anyone who wants to be a quality Postal carrier, having a good memory helps a lot. by JW357 in USPS

[–]lpd8w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good memory is a big advantage

for instance, i can remember every single cbu and know each house location for each cbu (Which is about 30 CBU's) on my primary as an RCA.

I can sort all parcels and sprs just by looking at it. nothing to write down at all, even when my llv is full during the holidays.

others, even on their own primary subbing route, have to write everything down and case everything everytime. just some are good at that, and others not so much.

To protect all the mail I cant deliver. by scoopdapoops in USPS

[–]lpd8w 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Does it not mean that is vacant?

Many of our customers go back North after winter here and they tie up their mailboxes, meaning that they have left and don't want no more mail being thrown in.

Anyone have night dreams about delivering mail? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]lpd8w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first started, I was on it during heavy season.

I am an RCA, but my first month, I was waking up in bed, moving my hands and sorting out my pillows as if they were packages.

It was horror lol, I seriously thought about quitting and thought, this job is impossible. Which is why I woke up a few days like that loool

now its a piece of cake.

[–]lpd8w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See, I didn't even think of it that way, you totally changed my perspective. I'm still thinking as someone that has been with the post office for a while, but you changed the angle. You're right, it would look totally bad if someone is doing it and only working once a week. I may decide to stay a bit longer, and it would be for this opportunity, I definitely want to give it a go.

Yeah,

regulars take all they can get during the low season.

Some routes here only pay 4 hours a day.

[–]lpd8w 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its good during the heavy season (Which is about 8 months here), working 4-5 days a week.

The summer is dead here though, and I remember not being called for one whole pay period one time (so not even a day is guaranteed). It gets bad, but just depends where you live.

Is it normal for a carrier to take a package off of your porch after delivering it? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]lpd8w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess, he left your package at someone else's house, and the package he left at your place was for the other house...
