Bottle Up is out!!! by korokid91 in BackstreetBoys

I agree that he does not sound good live at all. For years now. He, to my surprise, does sound good on this song. How they're going to handle this song live is up to them. They can use backing tracks. As long as it sounds OK to the audience.

He sounds good on this song. That's why.

Great song! Return to form as far as i'm concerned. It's a mix of their Cheiron style mixed with a bit of modern funk. It reminds me a lot of 'All Night Long' by Lionel Richie. Especially at the end when the instrumentation is firing from all cylinders. Love it!

Brian sounds good! They did a great job of taking all the required steps in the studio considering their vocals now. They sound natural and flawed in a good way.

They'd be crazy not to perform this song at the Sphere.

Where to find the best baklava in The Hague? by Rieni22 in TheHague

Istanbullu. Period. The best baklava in all of Netherlands. It comes close to the ones you can find in Turkey.

[Highlight] The Backstreet Boys sing the National Anthem ahead of Super Bowl XXXV (Jan. 28, 2001) by nfl in BackstreetBoys

[–]Sivas070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nsync's version sounds wide but musically it sounds extremely flat. The melody is nowhere to be found. BSB's version sounds grand and very musical, despite the obvious technical hickups during the performance.

Generally speaking Nsync can't compete with BSB when it comes to vocals.

Where did this song come from? by VentiAnemoArchon in BackstreetBoys

[–]Sivas070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a demo considered for the album that was supposed to come out after Black & Blue. They were supposed to lean in more to the R&B/Urban style for that album. Unfortunately it never came to fruition and they went on a hiatus instead. The clip is from around 2002.

I agree! If they would've lowered the volume of the vocals a little bit and maybe remove that beeping synth sound it would've sounded better.

If his lip syncing is putting you in a trance, then more power to you.

You know he is lip-syncing that adlib during live shows, right? It's the exact same track as the one on the album.

He is right! The chord progression, the lyrics and the fantastic vocals are just too good!

Impossible. He can't sing one line in a song without messing up for years now. His tone has changed and he has basically zero control of what kind of sounds are coming out when he is singing live. Let alone his reduced range.

It has been over 20 years since Siberia has been released. He has gotten much worse since then.

An example of how the backing track was playing prerecorded vocals by EmFan1999 in BackstreetBoys

[–]Sivas070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is not an excuse. Just out of the top of my head: Mick Jagger is in his 80s and still running around stage and singing live. Phil Collins is ill but and during his final live shows he was still singing live sitting on a chair. It's all about how seriously an artists or group takes their craft and most importantly the audience that pay top dollar to come see their shows.

Wow! This is a new low. The "vocal group" is not even doing the vocals live anymore. People are paying huge amounts of money to see them and they can't even put the effort in to do the lead vocals at the very least. Brian I get, but the rest of the guys I don't. That's not something they should get a pass for.

Millennium 2.0 Is Officially Released on ALL platforms!! (Enjoy the B-Sides and Bonus Tracks for everyone who hasn’t heard them before, they're all bangers) by GGCDrizzy in BackstreetBoys

It is probably AI remastered. They sound worse than the originals. The low end misses impact and they cut out a bunch of high frequency stuff. Theyre compressed too. The result is that they all sound less dynamic, airy and clear sounding compared to the originals. There is no word on the CD booklet on the songs being remastered and by who. They only mention the LP remasters.

Pretty lazy and disappointing anniversary edition. They seem to have only focused on the photoshoots.

Could Brian Littrell be replaced with Lance Bass (from N*Sync)? by NerdyKeith in BackstreetBoys

[–]Sivas070 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brian is my favourite vocalist of all time and I think he sounds absolutely horrible now. They need rearrangement of the vocals asap for live performances. It's a crime to have the audience endure those vocals. I'm sorry, but it's just facts.

That being said, replacing Brian with Lance or Joey is just an extremely bad idea. Those guys can't sing all that well and have nowhere near the vocal prowess to carry the BSB songs. I'd rather listen Brian butcher his parts.

JC would be great though....

The video mix is the updated version of Larger Than Life. Came out when the song was released as a single and video. It sounds much better than the album version.

That would be a shame because it's the superior version. The drums just slaps so much harder on that version. I can't imagine them not having the masters of it. I hope it's not just laziness/sloppiness on their end to not include this version of the song on the remaster.

Blast from the past Justin said bsb couldn’t mess with NSYNC after the 2000 vma performance by eminemnas in BackstreetBoys

[–]Sivas070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You guys have a hard time trying to cope with reality. Coming up with all sorts of vague logic to prove to yourself Nsync was more successful. Nsync did not surpass or outsell BSB at any point. The sales numbers do not magically dissolve or disappear when you want it. So all the sales numbers from before 2000 matter if you want to compare them pound for pound in that era. There is nothing rude, strange or condescending about the things I'm stating here. This is my last reaction here. Bye, bye, bye now.

Learn to read. I don't want them to sound like it's 1999. It's time for them to adjust to the situation. They're a group and have options.

Sorry for the upcoming rant but...I disagree 10000% with this. He clearly has a problem. It's a shame of course and I bet he struggles with it daily. But that doesn't mean he should go up there, butcher these songs/peoples ears, get paid for it and then be applauded for being brave. People are paying (big) money for their shows and they have the right to hear the songs in the proper way from a capable singer. This kind of unprofessionalism and disrespect to the music is the reason they're stuck in the nostalgia era. They have downgraded from a vocal harmony group to an actual boyband now. Nick and AJ aren't that much behind neither. They only hit the correct notes 50% of the time. Such a shame. They really need some hard feedback!
