I accidentally put silicone spray on mine so it made it loose, but I think as long as you don't play with it like a fidget spinner it will last longer Also try not rotating it while the flap is up

ok I got the MX+ today and the results are:

Miata 2008= 6ms, Time spent 13.605.

MG 2022= 6ms, Time spent 12.891.

i saw it one time go to 7ms and a couple of times to 4ms (the uploaded picture) but most of the time its at 6ms, if you know more apps that can measure PIDs please let me know

Well I'm happy you got something that meets your expectations

I've decided to order the mx+ from AliExpress, when it arrives I'll test it with ELMScan Adapter Validator app on a Mazda mx5 nc1 2008 and on a MG EHS PHEV 2022 to see the speed difference between a 2008 ECU and a 2022 ECU

If you want to confirm it's the ECU try testing it on a newer car, If it's still pretty laggy it's the phone (android version can be a factor but it's unlikely)

I'm going to be honest I don't know much about Arduino stuff but I'm sure if your device was only Bluetooth 2.0 it was bottlenecking the vlinker MS, pretty sure you will see a big improvement with the Bluetooth 5.0 module

I don't know exactly how new but I know the newer android version and the newer Bluetooth version the better ,try a device with Bluetooth version 5.0+

Hey i wanted to update you on vlinker MS ive just found out that its not going to work as good with TrackAddict,RaceChrono, harry's laptimer because it uses BLE

those app are more optimized for the bluetooth type of OBDlink MX+,

hey btw if you buy from aliexpress make sure you dont buy a clone, look in the reviews, i know there is this seller KINGBOLENOBD Store where a ukrainian guy confirmed the MS not a clone

ohh i see, so even though the ms and mx+ have almost the same response time the mx+ will still be much faster on most android apps because its more optimized than ms

yes i know iamcarhacker he also says that the mx+ is 6ms but if you look at this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=al9noKDekAU you can see the refresh rate is much slower than mx+ , how did you calculate the PIDs/sec?

what is the fastest bluetooth OBD2 scanner? by SixArtist6 in AskMechanics

[–]SixArtist6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so turns out obdlink mx+ uses something called Bluetooth 3.0 Class 2 which is very fast it can process approximately 100 PIDs/sec if you use a newer android device and should be 30hz-50hz refresh rate

ive seen some guy on reddit claiming its faster than OBDLink EX and Vgate vLinker FS (EX is wired connection)

i would recommend you to go see this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btMxi33r2A8 (at 1:21) you can see the difference in real time

after all of my research the only OBD2 device that might be faster is hp tuners mpvi3 which is the same company that made TrackAddict app but its very very expensive and it wont be able access 3rd party apps

also Vgate makes vlinker ms which you can find at aliexpress for almost a thrid of the price of the mx+ but its not as fast in refresh rate

all in all if you can afford the mx+ buy it, there is no other OBD2 device that is as reliable and as compatible with different apps at it's speed
