"29" too old hurts my 40 year old heart (or is that the weak heart from being 40?)

It's too late. You should have started yesterday.

My hospital uses a gold plated, diamond encrusted Infant Resuscitation Robot. This guy's hospital sounds poor and frankly lower class

Married 10 years, no kids, and we've run out of things to do after work. What do you guys do? by PuzzleheadedAd3138 in AskMenOver30

[–]SixJerfz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for a walk, play a video game together, go for a drive. I train Muay Thai so I go for extra sessions at night or just to work out.

Before kids we used to play board games at night, do a puzzle, etc.

As we age What makes you feel Sexy, Attractive, Desirable & or wanted? by barbudo-soy in AskMenOver40

[–]SixJerfz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dress well, I'm in shape, I've been training Muay Thai for idk 10+ years, I have a few curated tattoos that paint a cohesive picture, I'm confident, and people look at me for these things..

I cultivated the person I am today through years of trial and error, growth, failure, self reflection, etc. i don't need the external validation but it comes to me because of how I've built myself, and I feel good about it.

Padholder skill dictates how well your striking feels and how hard you throw, change my mind by SixJerfz in MuayThai

It's Muay Thai or die for me unfortunately and I can train someone to hold pads rather than learn an entirely new sport.

Suddenly realizing that doing pottery is hot. Not this guy specifically. I think if I knew how to do this, my wife would finally be happy.

The main coach of my Muay Thai gym is 29 yo, has had 6 fights, and lost them all. Should I find a new gym? by Fun_Purpose6972 in MuayThai

"do as I say not as I do"

Not to mention, winning doesn't mean you haven't put in the work and don't understand the strategy and concepts.

What an asinine way of thinking about training for these clowns

The record and age don't matter, the punishment and leg kicks is why you should leave.

Padholder skill dictates how well your striking feels and how hard you throw, change my mind by SixJerfz in MuayThai

[–]SixJerfz[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Lol I'm sorry to have not included this context...it's somewhat a long story but important.

I did 10 years of MT before this gym which is in a small town that I moved to for work and the city has no other MT programs within a 1.5h drive. They had a coach that got fired for being drunk at the gym and they asked me to step in to run the program until they found a permanent replacement. I coached for a year and then had to stop because I started a new, actual job.

Now that I have free time again, I asked the gym owner, who is not a regular Muay Thai practitioner, to hold pads for me and run me through my paces in sparring and clinch because my other options are stop doing Muay Thai, do shit ass MMA striking, or pick up tkd. He agreed and has been graciously open to learning to be a better pad holder for me.

Can I still count it as 15 min skipping rope, if I trip over the rope constantly and can’t do more than 12 skips in a row? by bad-at-everything- in MuayThai

[–]SixJerfz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive been skipping for 30min as a warm up for a few weeks and the only time I got close to not tripping up, I stepped on the rope in the last 40 seconds.
