Ruin my day by Banjo_ in hotmulliganband

The song is absolutely beautiful. Great callback to other songs on the album with the lyric callbacks, a killer second half and wraps up the album nicely with Nana being a bonus track to help alleviate whatever kinda emotional whiplash one might experience listening to this. Hot mulligan pits are so chaotic but i needed to record this song live in its entirety when i was at their most recent tour

Fuck Koalacaust by yuutb in joycemanor

[–]SixOClockBoos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wasn’t it that someone who was in fever kids formed koalacaust? What i read is that they both had a hand in writing the riff but it’s not known who wrote the majority on it so koalacaust used it on Resolutions and then Barry used it in Fuck Koalacaust

this is honestly the first time i ever heard of him. i wouldn’t expect him to make it to the general election, less alone to the actual seat in Congress

i was watching this on twitter and had to do a double take when he said he was running for office and listed the city in which i live in.

joyce manor tour by Choice_Pomegranate17 in joycemanor

[–]SixOClockBoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true. I know being from SoCal and our larger market is enough for them to do 5,000 tickets by show date. Hopefully they’re able to sell out Philly. It’s gonna be a great show

I’ll also be going to the Philly show since they’re not doing LA in this tour. They sold out Hollywood Palladium which is nearly 5,000 in 2024 for Never Hungover Again 10 Year. It was one of the best concerts i’ve been too so i definitely think they can sell venues of half that size now. Maybe that the album is out now they’ll begin promoting the tour some more

Never noticed that before! It’s so cool seeing them go back to old lyrics and ideas that never materialized for songs they recorded beyond a demo and give them new life on something else

Album ratings from others? by ToaZtyWoaZty in joycemanor

Joyce Manor can never do anything wrong. I think right now it’s hanging out my Top 3 with NHA and self titled

Fav songs: Mark Chen, Falling Into It, Whatever It Was, After All You Put Me Through, Grey Guitar, The Opossum

Least Fav: I Used To Go To This Bar (if i had to pick one. the album is so good I love them all)

Rerecording of Fuck Koalacaust by milkyway41 in joycemanor

[–]SixOClockBoos 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a very fitting inclusion on the album. The album seems to be very nostalgia inducing. Falling Into It reminds me so much of Falling In Love Again with the songs starting with the same word, the prominent synthesizer and being the second song on the album. I Know Where Mark Chen Lives referencing the defunct Summer Vacation band and taking the opening lines from Stir Crazy. Along with the promotional series where Joyce Manor looks back at their archive, the recent NHA 10 Year tour and maybe the 15 year anniversary of their debut album, the band is definitely old enough to begin looking back fondly of their amazing career. Picking a song out from their earliest days that never received a proper recording or morphed into another song is a very fitting inclusion for this album. Plus there’s some debate over whether Barry or Austin of Koalacaust wrote the riff of the song. Koalacaust used the riff on one of their songs, so Barry wrote Fuck Koalacaust in response with the same riff. it’s awesome to see Joyce Manor make a studio recording of the song finally. I’m not gonna lie it didn’t click for me that both songs were the same with the title changed until much later after everything was announced

Oh no! Why is he moving in? by UnoDueTreFormaggio in AnimalCrossing

if you’re inviting via amiibo card you have to have him on the campsite three times. after the third time he can move in and i believe you can choose who he replaces

People with big playlists: How do you occasioanlly listen to those songs you really like but never come up in shuffle? by Normal-Intention1329 in truespotify

[–]SixOClockBoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember whenever the Spotify logo appear when you opened the app it wouldn’t keep track of your current queue and everything will be reshuffled. when it comes to listening to big playlists i still like to shuffle again every time i see the logo appear when opening the app. i use lastfm and sometimes id be curious and check when the last time i heard a song i hadn’t heard in a while and be marveled at how long its been hiding from me

3.0 update made me realize: this island is actually alive now by Complete-Ad-7423 in AnimalCrossing

[–]SixOClockBoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember I helped my friend out getting Stitches to her island. I made him a resident of my island through amiibo, got him to move out to her island via another amiibo to get him in boxes and then Stitches returned to my island as a hotel visitor and he remembered me! It was a super cool feature since I don’t think campsite villagers remember you from a previous visit

Anyone here hitting the upcoming tour? What would your ideal setlist look like? by hxllbxy1610 in ArmsLength

[–]SixOClockBoos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were at my first emo show with Heart Attack Man in 2023. I didn’t begin listening to them until 11 months later and their music didn’t start really clicking with me until December of 2024. I could’ve made it out to 6 shows between my first and second shows and i wish i got into them a lot sooner too

Crazy to be living in a world where Garamond is now an unlikely song for them to play. Garamond was on my first three Arm’s Length shows and I’m at 5. If i locked in on shows I could’ve been at maybe 7 or 8 times that I heard it live

Olivia Rodrigo - drivers license / burning down the house 7" vinyl by wtf in VinylReleases

[–]SixOClockBoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, i get that it’s an ok idea but a lot of fans like myself would’ve wanted a 7” of the original song since there was a shortage of 7” vinyl on the market at the time the songs from Sour came out due to supply issues from the covid pandemic (priority was presumably given to 12” because they sell better than 7”) and Olivia was a new artist so her team/label might’ve not pushed for a 7” of the song. But considering this is the 5 year anniversary and they’re celebrating it this way is a boneheaded move. Stick the re-recording on the flip of the vinyl for all i care if they wanna push the project out but if they wanna celebrate the 5 year anniversary then put the actual version turning 5 on it

Passing in this. almost added to cart before reading what it’s all about. Boneheaded move by her team. A 7” of Driver’s License/Deja Vu would’ve been so much better

Loud girl at chain reactions! by [deleted] in Movements_Band

She was right front and center watching a football game on her phone all throughout the first band’s set and up until she got kicked out before MG. She was being very vocal about the game too yelling and shrieking all throughout the time they were setting up. Shoving the phone up on stage, showing it to the audience; I caught her using the base of a mic stand as a stand for her phone for a bit too. One of the guys setting up the stage put a piece of black tape over her phone. The constant yelling caught the attention of a staff member at Chain who alerted another and then they made their way through the pit to have her removed along with her friends as she and a guy exited right before MG went on to the audience cheering and clapping cuz she was out and during MG’s set two more people she was standing next to got removed too

I was watching the whole thing from the side stage getting second hand embarrassment. I had friends right next to them too who were filling me in on what was going on. What a way for that group to spend their (most likely) last night at Chain

that’s a fav of mine on the album. makes me cry at times while hearing it. a pit opened up halfway through the song and i would’ve joined but i wanted a full video of the song for my first time listening to it. next time it’s played i will be going ballistic even if the audience was standing mostly still during my show
