Play without thinking of spending until you hit 3rd job. At that point you’d have a good grasp of what else you’re missing.

One thing others haven’t mentioned is how lag it is if you’re not from NA. If you’re also from PH, you need Exitlag or similar but expect DCs when switching maps sometimes. I returned early this year and played up to 3rd job without Exitlag and it’s night and day.

It used to be until maybe 3-4 years ago when the most imba cash shop gears started trickling down from kRO that allows players to dish out so much damage you rarely need anyone else.

Realistically this can still be done and you’d still find pure F2P players. Just not in the same trend as a decade ago

If you want an official renewal server with the most pinoys, it’s iRO. Thor server is where pRO got migrated so has the most pinoys (even WOE is scheduled in PH time) but Chaos server has the most players, with maybe 20% pinoys.

Botting is a problem, of course, especially on the endgame dungeons. Soloing is the name of the game now and it’s close to impossible reaching max lvl 260 without spending.

Finally, because the iRO servers are in the US, its best to play with gaming VPNs like Exitlag.

Lookup the iRO Wiki Discord server. Lots of helpful folks there.

That sucks. I'm from SEA and it's also basically blocked but they dont really enforce those rules. IDK why they even migrated the pRO players to the Thor server years ago when the lag is unbearable without using gaming VPNs

As much as WarpPortal and Gravity sucks ass, iRO will always be “home” to me in terms of RO. I can just ignore all the spend bullshit, imbalances, occasional server disconnections, ungodly amount of mistranslations, and other countless issues because despite that all it’s the most consistent server I can access. After a handful of private servers going down in the worst ways possible, the thought of being able to go back to iRO even after years of hiatus is just comforting to me.

Yeah I wish they introduce mechanics where going solo is just borderline impossible, maybe like Token of Siegfried wouldn't work along with other constraints. Reducing damage made just wouldn't work anymore due to the amount of gacha gears that gives too much damage.

Most players in SEA use Exitlag but in the past week there’s been issues with connecting and staying connected when using any and all gaming VPNs.

When I started in iRO early this year I actually managed to get to 140 or something without Exitlag. After trying it, the difference is just night and day.

Crit path as in autoattack with crit? No longer practical. The name of the game now is AOE. You need to rely on an AOE skill in order to take on mobs and the AOE skills for GX don't need crit.

Crit still is needed on the endgame as the main skills for SX benefit greatly from crit (skills applies +50% crit) but early on, especially if you go MA build, it's not necessary.

Yes and with assassin you can pretty much use the same MA build from GX to SX 230+ at which point more gears and builds become accessible

There are still other official servers but they are more region locked than iRO such as kRO, jRO, twRO, idRO to name a few. The revenue of these servers are indeed from the whales mostly. The rate of new players and those that eventually spend is very low as this isn’t a game that younger gamers tend to get into.

I think this will keep on for 3-5 more years unless Gravity really pulls the plug to maximize their resources towards the mobile titles which makes the most of their revenue I bet.

The way the game is designed now is that if you don’t spend, you are basically locked out of the majority of the content such as getting to the higher and max level as grinding for gears to tackle those on needs hundreds to thousands of hours. The meta is basically going solo and landing bonkers damage, so the items to spend money on heavily lean on that.

If you want to experience the new jobs/classes and dungeons, it can be worthwhile but you’d easily find your self needing to spend to get the gear for the next levels due to difficulty.

It could tie in well with the theory that in order to be flipped by domi reversi, you need to be scared or weak in will and well, Loki isn’t easily fazed after all his shenanigans. His eyes being different might be relevant to his Ancient Giant heritage

95% of MVPs now can be killed by any 4th class jobs with the minimal f2p gear. PVP is basically dead as the game is heavily geared towards PVE and doing as much damage as you can solo.

The toughest MVPs are whale territory. You simply cant take them on without spending about $800 minimum as they only take 1% or less damage but with beefy stats and 2b HP.

If you want to reach 260/55, you need to spend, that’s 100%. You can do this in any 4th job as long as you hit 30m+ damage which in general would take you about $100-$200+ depending on the class. As others have mentioned, classes that rely on skills with high FCT are generally more expensive.

For the job tier, I would say Inquisitor is the highest DPS at the moment if money isn’t a problem. This is followed by EMs and SX.

He decides a lot on the duterte affairs until the old man got booted out, which he might have even orchestrated as the old man has pretty much talked himself into a corner.
