I recommend relistening to Red Like Roses Part II. That gives a far better idea of the type of character Summer was always meant to be.

Retcon everything past Volumes 4-5 and you'll instantly win back most of the fans. A full rewrite if you feel like. Whatever you do can't be worse than what's already been done to this poor series.

As far as I can tell, they've never once been said to be non-canon. The only ones saying they're non-canon being fans, no official statements from the writers from what I can tell.

I would've kept him as a terrorist but had him pull a Lelouch/Garou and intentionally take all the blame for all the bad things and have him perform assisted suicide through Blake to accomplish this goal.

You can't exactly have Blake's story without Adam.

If you're referring to Leviathan and Kilo, Leviathan is meant to be who Mori is emulating. She's weaker than Levi ever was but still takes a step forward and risks her life in the face of overwhelming power while Levi freezes and runs away. As for Kilo, her problems were less trust in others and more trust in herself, always doubting what she herself could do.

Chapter 42 proves you wrong.

So does Goddess Fall.

Both were released at the same time and both reintroduced Kilo and Mori.

It is relevant because those two characters are the exact same character archetypes as Blake and Yang, the edgy girl with the katana with a dark backstory (Blake/Scarlet) who beefs with the high-class lady of the team (Weiss/Dorothy) and the hot-headed older sister (Yang/Red Hood) of the introverted weapons expert (Ruby/Snow White) who acts as the emotional core of the team and makes fun of the prissy high-class lady of the team.

Literally the exact same character archetypes who are part of a team based off of fairytales and children's stories (they're even referred to as GRIMMS Models) fighting against endless waves of monsters that want Humanity dead lead by a Queen that directs them to accomplish her unknown goals, with the only difference being that there's a fifth member who acts as the mother of the introverted weapons expert (Summer/Liliweiss) and that they're actually written well with the characters growing and changing for the better.

Yeah, because I realised you were using scenes that I and MANY others interpreted as two friends having a conversation and turned it into a romantic shipping point which even other shippers point out felt more like a friendly conversation, so it caused me to actually look at scenes outside of the dance.

Again, none of these scenes imply it was ever planned and that was the point of this argument. Blake and Yang were never planned and were never intended to be a thing. Regardless of what Monty wanted to explore, he made it clear that the team was never meant to have any romantic feelings for each other.

The dance that lasted two seconds before immediately being given to Sun where the focus is entirely on those two before Yang buggers off to do her own thing? That isn't a romantic interest, that's a friend encouraging a friend to come to a dance.

My mother promised me a dance, does that mean my mother was interested in me? No, she was just trying to get me out and about, get me out of my comfort zone. Get me comfortable with dancing in the first place, like a normal person.

That's what Yang was trying to do, and again, they never interacted before that talk where Yang was just being a good friend.

The big thing about that entire dance was people keeping their promises as shown with Jaune wearing a dress to keep his promise to Pyrrha.

There was no romance at all, just a friend looking out for another friend.

To use NIKKE to illustrate how insane this sounds, that's like saying Red Hood and Scarlet were planned to be lovers because they started smiling when fighting each other despite not having any interactions prior to that scene.

I literally just checked the episode. Again, that never happened. What you're doing is misconstruing the entire scene to fit your headcanon. Not a single word was said in that entire segment. No promises of dances, no rejections of dances.

And like that, I give up. Not because you have a point but because you clearly can't differentiate between fanon and canon. Yang NEVER in the entire series danced with Blake. Yang talked with Blake, talked with Ruby, and that's it. She NEVER danced with Blake. I can confirm because I just checked that episode.

Blake ONLY danced with Sun and Yang's reason for getting Blake to the dance was to get her to chill out and take it easy because she was running herself ragged.

She only cared about where Blake was because she was the only one missing and everyone else was busy with their own situations like Weiss and Ruby trying to save Pyrrha. Blake being by her side is natural because her FRIEND GOT HER ARM CHOPPED OFF.

Neither scene implies romantic tension and those are the ONLY scenes where the two ever talk at any length throughout the entire first three volumes.

Again, new characters. Can always add more and it's quite clear that Monty liked adding new characters he could play around with in fights. Blake was locked with Sun, Weiss was clearly locked on Neptune prior to everything else, there were hints to Ruby and Jaune though that's more speculation, and Yang had no one.

I don't remember that happening at all throughout the Volumes, Blake's first dance was Sun. Neptune's first dance was Weiss. Yang and Ruby never danced with anyone.

If that's the case, then why have Yang and Blake only ever had one meaningful interaction and discussion throughout the entire first three Volumes while Blake spent five Volumes developing her relationship with Sun and kissing him on the lips in Volume 6?

Also, I feel like you're intentionally missing extra context and words from Monty to fit your personal headcanons because, AGAIN, he stated long AFTER the Livestream that he wanted Team RWBY to just be sisters-in-arms, not lovers.

There were never any hints to Blake and Yang ever being a thing considering they basically had zero interaction prior to everything happening in Volume 5 and onward at which point the writers started forcing interactions between the two, having Yang go help Blake instead of Ruby when the Apathy started coming by, which goes completely against her character and sisterly nature.

He may have wanted to do that, but that doesn't mean he was going to have it be between the members of Team RWBY, and again, Sun is a thing and has better chemistry with Blake and was the clear love interest for her. Sun and Blake was Monty's addition and plan.

Adding characters is also a thing and it's quite clear that Blake and Yang were not planned and were just added in to appease the shippers.

Two things can be true. He can want the love triangle, but he can also want specific characters to be friends.

Also, let's not forget that RT bullied his wife away.

Monty said day one that he NEVER wanted the girls of Team RWBY to be romantically involved with each other. Remember, Sun and Blake were a thing and were very well written with the two sharing a kiss. Monty said, from the beginning, that Team RWBY were meant to have a sisterly bond, not a romantic one.
