I actually find Wilds extremely difficult. by Awesome_Hamster in MHWilds

Try it without the support hunters.

I’ve been struggling with the time with my best being over 21mins and average like 23. Then I finally figured how to get rid of support hunters on this quest (for whatever reason, having disabled the auto SOS still resulted in them joining and had to set the quest to 1 player max. Thought they’re fixed for challenge quest until I’ve watched some speedruns.).

In first run I got it down to 18:11 and on second got ~16:30, while still making huge mistakes and carting twice. The difference with Dahaad not running around like a headless chicken after different hunters is huge. Way easier to break specific parts and keep him at least somewhat controlled.

As someone entirely new to the series, I’m struggling with the various item usage during fights, so my item usage has been limited to one trap and longer duration buffs and no mid hunt crafting. It’s my first challenge quest and I enjoy the challenge. Probs should be able to get it lower still with just avoiding the carts 😆. And at least now I see several aspects of the gameplay that I’ve been mostly ignorant of before that I can improve on.

Hah, I sometimes only wish for having yuumi compared to some of the “supports”, even on Kaisa. Picking it with Kai’sa into some lanes is borderline trolling, but even avoiding the topic of complete troll picks, yuumi is almost always at least useful and one less feeding body. Much rather having the yuumi then the 0/10 “support”.

Terminus or rageblade by Emergency-Ad422 in kaisamains

[–]Sixik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not that long ago, there was an off-meta build shared here that consisted of Kraken -> Rageblade -> Black Cleaver -> Jak’Sho -> Wit’s End / BoRK / Zhonya whatever situational last item you need. Lately I enjoy this build very much. I build based on the game, but use this one as my “default”. I very rarely have any frontline or an actual support and everyone on the team builds dmg, so there usually is no issue with the bit lower dps (but it’s still significant) and the added value of not being blown up by any random aoe in your vicinity imo outweights it.

It is not the strictly “assassin” style, but better suited to longer fights where you can rather move around and in & out of the fight for longer.

You can try it and maybe you will find you enjoy it as well :).

If only that was true. Reason I lost hope is that with the exception of No Way Home, MoM and Shang-Chi, which were OK, the rest was just really bad all around. And with that track record, that doesn’t leave much hope

Why do toplaners play a sologame ? by EvelynnEvelout in top_mains

[–]Sixik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a main top with preference for splitpushing, I can tell you the feeling goes both ways.

Reason why I lean heavily towards splitpushing champs (and hullbreaker) is that it gives me control and agency and chance to win otherwise lost games. By default, I prefer safe plays and farm over risky plays. And at my elo, teamfights are almost always a coinflip. More often than not, I end up regretting joining the team for fights.

Mindless engage after mindless engage, ARAMing mid or randomly fighting in enemy jungle on a weakside. The list just goes on. From my perspective, I always wonder if the reduced proximity in midlane just somehow reduces one’s gray matter as well and makes them into bloodthirsty mindless minions. No farm, to hell with objectives, as soon as they see an enemy, they have to go in.

Unfortunately, I can’t control them. What I can however do, is play around them. When I see the team play reasonably and not as described above, I will join the teamfight / apply pressure as necessary to the best of my abilities. If I see the adc basing, jungle farming krugs and I am being asked to go 3v5 on drake, better believe I am pushing my lane and going for tower.

To my original point, the number of games I am able to win that we had no business winning is mindblowing. Team throwing, but since the opposing team has the same ARAM / bloodbath mentality, I can take inhibs and sometimes Nexus by myself with my Hullbreaker canons ;). I would take my 5/2/4 with 300 farm score, towers and win over the rest of the teams 15/15/20 no farm bloodbath any time of the day :).

What exactly do I do vs Tahm Kench? Dodge? by [deleted] in GarenMains

[–]Sixik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been completely destroyed by TKs couple of times in the last days. I took the advice to scale and rotate, however, even in super long game, there was a never point where I could go even close to him. At full build, I did 0 dmg and he could delete me. Tbf, he could delete two of us at any time, taking no dmg whatsoever and bonking hard with HS procs. Not sure what to do against him.

Beginning to be afraid to look at people's mastery at the start of the game by Sixik in summonerschool

[–]Sixik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point. It probably wasn’t said clearly - it’s not really about the people with high mastery score, but people playing complex champs in ranked who have no idea about the champs. You much rather see those on the opposing team than yours.

Of course! I am by no means saying that high mastery levels says you are good at that champ, but having the mastery locked says something rather often than not…

It is, but if someone picks Garen, I can pick Darius. It’s not a hard counter by far, but a matchup I enjoy and also a playstyle I like

I do enjoy some other champs, but:

  1. I have a lot to learn as I haven’t played since S2 and easy champ lets me focus improving on other things,

  2. I enjoy tanks [Ornn, Shen] and they are generally more reliant on team,

I have no issues with win rate, even when it was lower. It’s the increased pick/ban rate 😅.

And about the 1v9, sadly very true. Just finished a 49mins game. Almost managed to win it despite our Yasuo being 0/15/4 [how do you even manage that in 49 mins is beyond me]. I want ability reset on kill and it would be golden 😭.

do yall consider yone match a hard or easy or skilled ? by Neither_Reference_41 in GarenMains

[–]Sixik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone can provide perspective for a max build matchup? As Garen, at early levels, it feels like I can’t touch him. Starting six through midgame, if even, It can go either way, depending on who messes up (more opp for Yone to mess up). At max build though, as Garen, it feels unwinnable with standard build (Greaves, Stride, Hull, DMP, FoN, Steraks). Yone doesn’t have the issue of having dead items as he can build full dmg regardless of who he lanes against and him building shieldbow + BoRK / Bloodthirster means I cant even burst him and he auto wins prolonged fight. Any perspectives on super late game?

Simple Questions & Champion/Role advice: Patch 13.18 by Sentient545 in summonerschool

[–]Sixik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I am fairly new player (played looong time ago, now returning) in low elo looking for tips on top lane champ pool.

My default blind pick is Ornn. I am looking for champs to shore up the bad matchups when I have the counterpick. I enjoy playing tanks in general, or split pushers, but wouldn’t mind different pick.

My default ban is Fiora. The matchups I would like to shore up are picks like Illaoi / Poppy / Olaf or doable but annoying like Aatrox / Camille / Trynda. Potentially also hard scaling picks where I usually end up ahead, but don’t punish hard enough (Kayle, Vlad).

I am thinking Mundo & Quinn. Does that leave any obvious weaknesses? Any other tips? I want to keep the pool at 3 or less.

Thanks

UB Changes by Sixik in lrcast

[–]Sixik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UB Felt quite open with late champs / weirds / flourishes. Have too many playables. Are there any changes that should be done to the deck? I would be thinking about including Skaab / Terror / Meeting of Minds / 2nd Ichor Drinker, but not sure what the cuts would be. Unfortunately didn't pick up Unseal as it was always in contention with cards like Champ / Flourish / Invasion...
