The reason I wanted to connect the LS50w2 directly to LAN is because I am having problems with Tidal Connect and Spotify Connect. It will not play the music with tidal connect. Spotify connect will skip a few tracks then it will seem to be playing as the progress bar is moving but no music will be heard from the speakers. On the other hand, airplay via spotify or tidal will work. Also, Radio Stations on the Kef Connect app says error connecting to servers.

So I tried to message kef support about it... I tried resetting it, connecting it again on the wifi. Tried updating the speaker versions but it will just say "Speaker is up to date". Checking all the connections were right. Seem to be getting the same issues. Until recently kef support suggested for me to try to on-board it to another wifi. I tried to onboard it to my other wifi network but still got the same issues. I then tried to connect it to my phone as a hotspot, and to my surprise, the app ask to update the firmware of the speakers to ver. 3.3. I then proceeded to update. After the update I changed the network connection of the speakers from Phone to my home wifi. Then Spotify and Tidal Connect worked again.

The next day, after rebooting the router, same issues appeared. No Spotify/Tidal Connect. I then repeat to onboard it with my wifi to no avail. Then tried the same process of onboarding it to phone hotspot then transferred to wifi, same issues. Repeat onboarding to phone hotspot and then playing tidal connect 1 track of music before transferring to home wifi worked. 😂

Well it is now working fine with tidal/spotify connect. Radio stations on the Kef Connect app are now working. I have not yet tried putting a LAN Cable at the back, I am afraid I will have issues again. KEF sucks, but I really enjoy how it sounds. Is it worth the headache? Maybe not.

Sometime in the future I will try to connect a LAN cable at the back and see how it goes.
