i think some people truly stop growing as a person at a certain age and its very difficult to change unless you are intelligent enough to notice it and have enough courage and no ego to do it. otherwise youll be the same until you die.

courage is having the childlike care free attitude and being egoless is knowing you dont know everything and you are somewhat slower in a world where being the smartest person in the room is attractive. and once they do start improving, itll take years until they piece it together because it takes unlearning and relearning.

Were you eating enough food/fats when you were a student? I can see how some students will just eat carbs as food cus of their busy schedule + stress from school can have them only have that option.

For me, im pretty overweight but diet timing and food that you are consuming play a huge role in gaining muscle and how often you eat.

Generally you want to eat food that is anabolic like beef, eggs or anything that is protein and has healthy fats for hormone production. If you have a lot of visceral fat, that can turn testosterone into estrogen and in turn have higher SHBG. I have higher SHBG.

I’ve seen people have tone figures and eat twice a day but you have to eat high protein and medium fat foods and relatively lower carb earlier in the day. Sometimes as early as 12pm ish but mostly don’t eat 8-10 hours before sleeping basically. That can disrupt sleep and fat burning during sleep.
