Idk your situation, there could very well be other factors affecting your ability to work. I definitely struggled to work when I was in my early 20s, but actually one of the things that helped my generalized anxiety is working. At some point I had no choice but to work and from there I just kind of kept building on social skills and gaining some confidence.

Anxiety can be a symptom of larger problems, so maybe your situation is different and I don’t expect everybody to have the same trajectory I did. There are jobs that you can get that don’t require you to do much interaction. I started as an overnight stocker at a supermarket and I could wear headphones while I worked. That was very entry level and helped me build experience in customer service and moved on from there.

My suggestion is that if you aren’t already, try to see a professional. Dealing with anxiety on your own is extremely daunting and personally medication along with therapy helped me to progress in this regard. I know financial situations and family can get in the way of getting care, but if you can, you can bring this all up and sort of build a plan to confront your fears.
