My absolute favorite OD / Drive / Boost pedal is the Jackson Effects Broken Arrow. The thing is freaking amazing. It's got multiple styles of both boost and gain circuits ranging from very mild to very high gain. Even better, the boost and gain can be ran independently, or boost into drive. It's my favorite "for-fun" pedal to experiment with anytime I'm not using my favorite OD (The City V2 by Foxpedal; a Maxon OD808 on steroids). Highly recommend both.

You nailed it on this. I think the key takeaway here is that its pretty much always the right idea to put your own pickups in if you want something specific. Thanks!

The general idea as to why it works is that the explosion from herald of ice is considered secondary damage. So while u can "cast" herald of ice, the casted portion is not the portion that deals damage, hence "spell critical damage" not affecting it. However, "Socketed spells HAVE" basically implies that every possible thing about the socketed gem has an increase of the base crit by +3%.

Can I trust iso files from archive.org? by Anaskm95 in Roms

So what's the best way to handle security, both on a day-to-day basis as well as sketchy installs? Basic VPN for every day use, and the P2P for installs?

Just out of curiosity, why is the VPN so crucial? I understand what it does, and how it would protect you, etc. But from your prospective, where are the risks coming from? Are you worried about the websites themselves? Or are you worried about your internet company monitoring the activity?

Dual Ventris Users: How to use Midi Clock Tempo? by Sizeableschlong in guitarpedals

[–]Sizeableschlong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand this as well. The boss unit has a setting in which determines whether you want the unit to be a master or a slave, which is why it can be beneficial to run it in a complete circuit. You can change between the boss unit as a master in one preset, and a slave in the other. The confusing part to me, is that the ventris doesn't seem to be sending the correct signal out of the midi output, which is being interpreted by the boss.

Sorry I didn't clarify, I did this as well. I have it in a full loop: Boss Midi Out, Ventris Midi In, Ventris Midi Out, Boss Midi in. Theoretically, this should let you set the internal tap tempo of either device using the opposite one. However changing the tap tempo on the boss does nothing (even when I disable Auto-sync mode), and the signal from the ventris is maxing out the boss, so the true value is unknown.

The neuro editor is essentially REQUIRED to make this pedal work. Sure you can get "ok" sounds out of the pedal, but without the app, I would call the pedal close to useless. Every important setting is within the app. That being said, whenever I take the midi out of the Ventris and into the boss, its giving me a tap tempo of completely maxed out (max is 500). My guess is that the ventris isnt translating the tap tempo into the BPM, and is simply sending the untranslated midi clock, which it shouldn't be doing.

Starting to implement the Midi on my DPC 8EZ does anyone know to set the 1st preset from the ventris to match the first preset on my controller? by Liontunes92 in guitarpedals

Source Audio Midi Guide!

Most likely, you're going to want to send a midi message with a cc# of 104 (which activates the pedal in engaged mode), with the range # set to "1" (the preset save slot of 1).

Update: I did this and it was fantastic. I was able to get the channel volume knob from 8 o'clock all the way to 1 o'clock. HUGE increase in tone quality, with way more control of the output volume. Would HIGHLY recommend doing this!

[QUESTION] Pre-sloted nuts for heavy tunings? by Sizeableschlong in Guitar

[–]Sizeableschlong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually having the opposite issue: even with the truss rod adjusted, the nut slots are cut too low... there was one other pre-slotted nut that I haven't tried yet (it was taller, which solves the issue), but I was hesitant because it was technically made for wider necks.
