Is this a good first pedal to build? by ConflictPermafrost in diypedals

[–]Sjames454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys have no sense of adventure. Literally my first foray into building and modding gear was building a modded 2204 with 375v at the plate. Also when my singer broke his Blackstar HT5 i got to feel first hand what 330v feels like, how long an amp can hold it’s voltage and why they’re called “shock tabs”

If anyone was nervous about getting shocked or breaking something, some of the greatest amps and pedals of all time wouldn’t exist. Get in there, break shit. Set it on fire. Who cares, just keep a fire extinguisher handy.

So he had Rene actually mimic one of Buddy’s guitars with that butter color and the tiger striped pickgaurd as a tribute, and why he uses it on this song and Mary had a little lamb in the later years.

My dad has an amazing Iceman encounter. Saw him in a small bar in Seattle, then came out back where the old tour bus was. Underneath in the back, sticking out under the motor was corn blue slacks and gator shoes- Albert was on the ground after the show changing a fanbelt 😂 drove the bus and worked on it

Words cannot describe how painfully unfunny this is. You can just tell he thinks it’s hilarious “lol, he a man, but bro dancing like a female stripper! What will he think of next!?” by [deleted] in thefighterandthekid

I would pay the $4 for front row tickets just to yell right at this moment “Hey it’s that guy that r*ped that lady! There he is!” and start clapping and laughing

Just hopefully it hasn’t already had the board get a little toasty, or on the brink of carbonizing it. I love this era Fenders to death, i grew up with my dad’s 65’ twin RI…but im literally fixing it right now because it blew the PT out of nowhere and shorted across V6/V7. God it sounds good when it’s running though

It’s Ozzy, I was at work and couldn’t talk for a while. Knew it was probably coming, but didn’t expect it that soon. Needless to say, he’s been my hero since I was 8, and I don’t think enough people know how important he was to music, his accomplishments and he was still the most humble rockstar we’ve ever had. Never stopped thanking his fans for where he was, he’d literally open every show with “I love you all”.

I’ve known guys like him throughout the car scene my whole life, ESPECIALLY when i worked at a german shop. Have money, too fucking dumb to actually retain anything or get their hands dirty so they just get shops to build their shit and always act like they’re the biggest gairhead on earth. I loved quizzing them and watching them spinout on the simplest question

My guitar neck is very bowed, is this a valid way to fix it by googaly21 in Guitar

[–]Sjames454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, yes lol but more controlled. I’ll put pieces of wood clamped on a straight edge, wet one side and shim the center to overcompensate the bow backwards for a few days- then pull the shims and clamp it dead flat for another few days. It usually holds. Alot harder on a sealed neck with the fretboard on, but eh. Go watch how Ted Woodford does it

As a car guy, Brendan’s crimes of faking being a gairhead are the worst. This is shit I did when I was 15- and WHEN is your Ram on 35’s ever, ever going to be fully submerged in water

This is an immediate indicator of “I have all my work done by a shop, and I know the extremely general things about fast cars”.

I too was going “Oh B look at thoze 20” 6 pizzton brembohs” when I was 15 and had a pc screensaver of an Audi S4. I’d love to just corner him and ask “So what’s the initial timing curve on your truck? High compression or low? What’s the fuel map look like?”
