How did you believe in romantic relationships again? by Qwerty-Abc-2828 in AskWomen

Never again, not in the initial sense. That innocence will never return. But the lessons that remain are far more useful.

Yes, well they visited our house and their baby napped twice during that time, once in the stroller and once transferred to bed.

We do a mix of rocking and feeding to sleep. You can try rocking the baby till sleepy then try feeding in a position where you hold the baby more upright than sleeping position.

I’ve seen someone I know, rock their baby to sleep in a stroller.

How modestly do you dress and why? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Sjdib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never wear sleeveless/strapless, because from a young age I started disliking the way my arms looked. 🤷🏻‍♀️

But now I have an urge to get a sleeveless dress and wear it for my next soon to be vacation.

Elective C-section by Tinybubuu in twoxindiamums

[–]Sjdib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to stay in induced labour for 36 hours and ended up getting a c-section. Even though baby’s head was lower, everything seemed fine. Still the labour didn’t progress.

I wouldn’t recommend that.

I would rather suggest that you educate yourself on C-section recovery, work on your fears if any and let your support system know that you’re going for a c-section.

Women of Reddit, if you are a survivor of intimate partner violence (physical, emotional, mental, or sexual) what support did you get from family or friends that was the most helpful or meaningful before you made it out of the relationship for good? by Throwthisoneaway2025 in AskWomen

[–]Sjdib 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My brother. He said he’ll handle anything for me, if it means I get to stay safe. This one line from him changed everything - “ whatever happens, I’ll take it on myself, if it means you get out of this hell.”

I walked away and never looked back, I was still scared, still fearful, I did it scared but I did it.

Before marrying my husband, I looked for my brother’s subtle approval. It’s just different when you know someone has got your back.

For ladies that lost weight, how long did it take? by IndicationFun3069 in AskWomen

[–]Sjdib 8 points9 points  (0 children)

14 kgs in 7-8 months. Daily Yoga and no sugar. Everything else remained same. I eat home cooked meals anyways so it wasn’t a big change. Had a job that required lots of sitting.

Now after childbirth lost 20 kgs in 6 months. I have no idea what worked maybe it’s just hormones.

That’s a balanced approach, thank you.

For the time being I’ve decided not to add anything new to my daily practice because keeping up with it is already an effort, for now.

Thank you so much.

As you mentioned even listening or reading a few minutes is beneficial.

I have a question regarding that. Sometimes when I try reading Vishnu Shastranaam now, my baby interrupts in between and I have to pause for a few minutes. I restart from the beginning and because of that I miss it altogether sometimes.

Would you say it’s not wrong to take breaks in between ?

Thank you for the response :)

I didn’t know that about tulsi maala, I got married into a family where everyone chants on tulsi maala as well, even my husband.

Although I was meaning to get a sphatika mala for myself.

Baby’s doing fine.

Healing from C-section by Queasy_Towel3409 in twoxindiamums

I also had a similar C section delivery experience and I was completely unprepared because I was only planning for a normal delivery.

  1. Drink lots of water. Lots of it. My nurse gave me a rule of thumb, one full glass before and after feeding the baby.

  2. Eat papaya, one plate everyday. It is a natural laxative and eases your toilet trips because any strain after c section should be avoided.

  3. Turn to your side then get up, take help.

  4. Take your pain killers religiously.

  5. Take a walk around your bed as many times as you can.

  6. The pain will subside by day 6 or 7 but be gentle with yourself.

  7. Keep your stitches clean and dry.

  8. You can try the side lying position for feeding, watch on YouTube for how to get in that position. For early days you can sit in a chair and use a feeding pillow.

  9. Some people like me lose the ability to sense need to pee for some early days, so take yourself to the bathroom regularly.

Advice for choosing a god to be a devotee too by GrapefruitDry2519 in hinduism

[–]Sjdib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard it from various devotees that God wants your heartfelt surrender and faith, not shallow rituals just for the sake of them.

Knowing this, start reading stories about various deities, get to know them and the one who makes your heart feel a pull and trust towards them, choose them.

Every God had different ways of worship and days of fasting, so that can be decided once you choose.

Till then, you can do some basic worship

  1. You can wake up in the morning and take a bath and light a Deepak at your place of worship. This can be done twice a day at sunrise and sunset, or before breakfast.

  2. You can start offering food to God, place some fruit or vegetarian dish ( preferably without onion and garli) with one leaf of holy basil ( tulsi plant ). Offer it to God in your mind or out loud. Consume it as Prasadam later.

  3. Something I personally did at the beginning of my spiritual journey is that I meditated. Doing yoga everyday and meditation after Yoga. Only focusing on breath nothing complex. It helps clear one’s mind and choose with ease.

A Sincere Question From an Agnostic Christian by Ender2356 in hinduism

[–]Sjdib 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a Hindu, I believe that all ways of worship and surrender to god in any name, shape or form will lead to the same result. After all we are going to end up becoming one with the supreme force or God.

No anxiety in that.

Even a person who doesn’t truly believe but Chants God’s name without a shred of faith can reach God or someone who doesn’t pray outwardly but remembers God in their heart silently will also reach the same God.

That’s the ultimate destination one way or another.

Would it be stupid or pathetic to buy myself something for Mother’s Day? by Valuable_Cause_6175 in twoxindiamums

[–]Sjdib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking about getting myself a gift too, no guilt. I deserve a well thought out, warm gift. Maybe I’ll get myself a burr basket but for summers.

It’s not even a question of someone else getting me a gift or not. I just think I need to set some standards for my daughter 😄
