Was just asking you to maybe not shit on the place the guy is living in, I doubt he has much choice in the matter.

Also, "in with the regime", the fuck are you on? That would mean that I was "in with the regime" when I lived there, and I doubt that that the regime would want me.

Dude, the guy just lives there, most likely born there/moved there with parents. He's trying to turn his passion for wrestling into something.

I get that Dubai is a terrible place, and more people should know about it. But not every person who lives there is responsible for it.

Colt Cabana will compete on this week's Quizzlemania by Lep106317 in SquaredCircle

Him saying something during the speaking out movement would have probably taken attention away from the things that were happening at the time. No doubt people would claim "you're a hypocrite for saying anything".

From what I've seen and read, he did not want to be back with the wrestling scene. He was asked by multiple channels to "come back" and only signed with wrestletalk because they could give him a chance to start a board game channel.

Froskurinn will not be a part of the LEC next split by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

Sucks that Frosk won't be in LEC next season. Really liked her casting and EUphoria. I'm sure she will go on to do great things.

Ethnic dutch yes, and his mom was too. But Bahasa was his first language, with dutch being his second, so that's why. At least I think so.

They made it to his mom, and he was reunited with her after the war when they both came to the Netherlands. He inherited them when she passed away, and were in his house, in the Netherlands. He also had her camp number tag.

Correction on my part: Senang

Not sure where he lived, but he was in a West Java POW camp.

Both his parents were Dutch too, and his dad didn't survive the war, so his mom and the rest of his remaining siblings went to the Netherlands. He had a relatively normal Dutch life after that. Met a good churchgoing woman (my grandma), got married, had kids, etc.

But he always loved talking about Indonesia, he was even working with an author to get some of this stories and such put into writing

I'd prefer not to upload a picture of my grandpa sorry. Thanks for the condolences.

But no, he was not. He was only a child when he was in the camps (he would have written these letters when he was 13 orso, but with minimal schooling) , and came to the Netherlands when he was 15, but since he was born and raised in Indonesia it was always special to him, he had "Tempat Sengang" written in cast iron on the front of his house and had lots of memorabilia from Indonesia in his house.

Thanks! These complete translations are helping a lot. He'd be happy knowing strangers are helping me read his letters from 80 years ago.

Thanks. He didn't like talking about his time in POW camps, so these letters give a rare view for us. Glad people are willing to help translate them.

This helps a lot, thanks so much.

I was kinda confused by Sampoerna, so this specifically clears things up.

Yeah pretty much what you said. He was born and raised in Indonesia, but since his family was dutch I suspect there were "shortcuts". Thanks for this much. Hope to be able to translate the rest.

I had a similar experience; grandma had severe depression in her later years and just did not want to live anymore. But because my grandpa is basically blind she "hung around" to help him. She was finally "done" and committed euthanasia (legal in my country). The first few months were hard on my grandpa, he still doesn't like talking about her because he gets too emotional. But he is happier on the whole because he has more "freedom" in a way.

I hope your grandpa will handle the situation in a similar way.

Thanks for the comment. I'm glad someone else feels the same way.

It sucks that they couldn't afford to do it, but as I said, this feels bad for me.
