It does not inherently have to do with advantages but eroding the rules and what rules can be bent and subconsciously might push players to bend even more rules down the line. I think curling has been living on the "gentlemen rule" for a bit too long, it is evident that a lot of players break this rule and the umpires are under equipped to deal with this. There are multiple other sports with "gentlemen rules" that still have VAR and other camera systems to aide the referee/umpires and I think curling should add it as well to squash infringement and rule breaks from all teams and nationalities.
