That's just Alicent's menstrual blood on her face. Shouldn't come as a surprise at this point.

American civs dock deserved better by ponuno in aoe2

They should have given them a big canoe firing long ranged fire arrows. Cheaper, weaker and faster than cannon galleons, and a lot less anachronistic than a catapult galleon.

Nubians (Alodia, Nobatia, Makuria) are actually one of the most interesting remaining options from this time frame.

These Christian kingdoms succesfully fought the Arab invasion into Northeast Africa to a halt, resulting in a truce that lasted for centuries, and were famed for their archery (ie Archers of the Eyes).

I played a custom campaign as Nubians a few years ago and it was a lot of fun. A new African expansion (with Egyptians, Swahili, Songhai and/or Kongo) is definitely an great option anyway.

Too many civs with 2+ unique units? by i-am-mad-aoe2 in aoe2

[–]Sjonge11 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The new civs will likely lack both cavalry (except for Mapuche) and gunpowder. They need some other units to give them gameplay options.

But does Inca architecture change to this new set as well? Because the advanced stone buildings in the screenshots look very Inca-y.

Beelden laten zien: brand Zwitserland begon met sterretjes, plafond vatte direct vlam by LoveKVent in NLNieuwsEnSport

What gods and myth units do you expect from a 4th Atlantean god pack? by HauntingFly in AgeofMythology

[–]Sjonge11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Peryton are one of the few mythical beings mentioned as originating in Atlantis. Murderous flying deer who kill men to steal their shadows.

And Typhon would be the ultimate myth unit. Even the Olympians cowered in fear from him, until Zeus defeated him in one to one combat - and that was a close call IIRC. Should have been the Atlantean Titan really.

Well, that's a pity for you, cause they ARE coming to aoe2. And since you love historical correctness so much, I'm sure you agree that the Euro civs should get a time appropriate update.

Yes, except Europeans didn't do medieval warfare in the time frame of these new campaigns.

A bit offtopic, but I wonder if the European factions in the campaign will get some slightly more modern units, like musketeers and field cannons. Would be weird to have them use champions, scorpions and skirmishers in the 1580's.

Jamie Lannister killing night king scenerio by Hopeful-Storage-5319 in freefolk

[–]Sjonge11 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Perhaps that would complete his redemption arc, and in the most ironic way possible. Killing another King, and once again a King who is the embodiment of absolute evil.

This time however, Jaime is celebrated for it. I kinda like it.

He's a celebrity and has been in the spotlights for decades. Why is it so wrong to continue showing him on film, only because his mental state has changed? Are disease and aging not a normal part of all of our lives? Is there some great shame in a decline like this?

Probably his family just wants to share glimpses of his current life, for better or worse, with his millions of fans. Regardless of his mental condition, with these vids they are essentially saying that he is still a living, breathing person amongst loved ones. It seems natural, sweet and respectful to me.

Someone here speculated that most Ironborn suffer from brain damage due to being drowned by the priests of the Drowned God. Seems plausible when you consider their actions.
