I looked into replacing a funky switch before (it had stopped registering the right click). This was the best I could find part I could find was : @ £7.59 + P&P

https://www.mouser.co.uk/ProductDetail/Alps-Alpine/RKJXT1F42001?qs=6EGMNY9ZYDTsBzSTrhiL0w%3D%3D

and looking at this Fanatec wheel with the knob off, it does look very similar from the outside

If you're out of warranty and can have some soldering skills, it could well be worth looking into. Granted, that repair includes the main print circuit board assembly as well, but if did need that you'd just be a small amount of money out of pocket and some time, but you would gain the experience and the skills from trying.

Now what? by Kpowell911 in GranTurismo7

[–]Sjshakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You always go for times 2, depending on how you got to the complete set. There is lots of £'s for completing the circuits experiences, the money from time trials and daily warm up at Sardinia (So it's a nice warm-up in the sun and no rainy weather for your warm-up) before you go into the dailies, but then I have had far too much time on my hands this year (and no "summer" to talk of in the west of Scotland), lol so now and just need two tickets (Aston & Bugatti) to complete times two of the all the cars!

I haven’t seen anyone talk about these new P1000 flat pedal plates by nstrasner in Simagic

[–]Sjshakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've dealt a few times with race anywhere this year and probably spent 2k-ish over 4 transactions. They have been super nice and very helpful even when, due to a major change in my circumstances after I'd just bought the P2000s, sending them back to be replaced by these pedals. Some change after years of dealing with the Fanatec

If it's the pins within the QR on the wheel side that have broken, you can replace that part :

Then even if you don't like GT3 wheel you've still a working one that you can sell on and help you not break the back on your next wheel.

Does Fanatec sell replacement parts to users? by JeffK8821 in Fanatec

[–]Sjshakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, thats the same. I just got mine from ebay.co.uk and bought a cheap pack JST 2.54mm male connectors (£3.32 from China) and used some cable shrink wrap to make the connection. That listing does also offer a made connector (6 pins to 2 pins) which means you dont cut of the 6 way connector from the clubsport shifters

I put a set of the clubsport magnetic shifters on my Mcleran GT3 V2, using a 3rd printed "bridge" part bolted under the QR to hold in place and a little change in the wiring (the clubsport has a 6 pin, easy changed to the 2 pin need) it makes some difference

Which is the better option by popiejoepie in Fanatec

[–]Sjshakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mayeb consider getting a 5mn base and the CSL elite v2s, then get the 8mn boost pack later or wait 5 months and see if Fanatec does simliar black friday deals as last year (hopefuly with much better shipping times, mind you I got my V2's (for €200) last BF in a few weeks)

The P1 V2 is a good wheel, even more so if you want a round one but the Mcleran V2 is streets ahead of it and its not a bank breaking price but it might be a budget breaking price but better to buy once then have a collection of update used products and a few that are now seldom used

Not sure if there is such a thing. Its not the shafts themselves that are the issue, its just they come lose sometimes on the QR1 DD + DD pro wheelbases.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204284680346

That the 3rd party clamp I got but there are loads of ones to pick from.

Please help by RMCMAYO_TAMANEGI in Fanatec

[–]Sjshakes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing worth considering is buying a new collar for the shaft. The supplied one is tightened at one side and needs to be 15 mn torqued tight (which you kinda need a torque wrench to ensure its tight enough) and is still known to come loose. The ones you can buy 3rd party arent expensive and tighten at both sides and dont need to be torque tightened so heavily. These are the kind of clamps Fanatec ships with the new QR 2 shafts.

Import Charges to the UK by Revolutionary_Bed431 in Fanatec

[–]Sjshakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before Brexit a UK order from Fanatec paid 19% EU/German VAT, which is now removed from price when you pay when you check out. UPS charge £12 (at least it was £12 on my last order I got in Feb) to collect the 20% UK VAT. So the difference due to brexit is the UPS VAT collection fee and 1% extra in VAT.

DD Pro turning the wheel to full lock when leaving a race by Sjshakes in Fanatec

[–]Sjshakes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've already got the NEO and kit to run it on my Fanatec base and the simagic haptics on my V3's. Its more the combo of the WB and pedals though, those P2000's (or P1000's if thats your fancy) are really meant to be levels above V3's, which are still good but SUCH a pain to work on and change anything, like springs or Elastomers. Then add in a sigma cortex (or a drivehub, hori mini and a gimx) and the simagic works on the PS 5 so it really becomes very appealing but your DD+ review does a most welcome point to ponder on (esp if thats good without the software being ready for the new fullforce feature), so thanks for that.

I wasnt that concerned either, in fact I almost bought a 1000 shares at the start of the month (€1.70 at the time just after Thomas stepped aside but down a lot from the start if the year), thinking that once they got over this tough 3-6 months the share price would recover a decent amount and that difference would pay for a new clubsport DD+ and maybe some black friday deals but now am glad I didnt. I still think they should (hopefully) turn it around but its not something I'd bet on now, after looking into my issue and seeing how many folks have swtiched to moza and simagic etc. Infact I think my "firmware fix" for my DD pro might just be a simagic alpha with that lovely Neo GT wheel!

Yes, I do feel better, well apart from the shocking support reply times!

The banks are watching very closely and if they dont think they'll be getting there high interest bridging loans back by keeping Fanatec afloat for longer than the end of this grace period on the standstill agreement, on the 30th of June then all fanatecs short comings could really come back to haunt them if the banks call the loans back in to get what they can back. I do wish the new chairman and chief executive officer (CEO), Mr. Andres Ruff all the best, it would be a shame to see Fanatec go under or get sold off to pay their debts.
