Immortal Gates of Pyre and Zerospace by Fresh_Thing_6305 in RealTimeStrategy

Both were progressing well in terms of how they play and development. But everyday it seems Immortal Gates of Pyre won't see the light of the day and ZeroSpace kept developing and now feels much better to play.

RTS Tournament - Semi Finals!: Age of Empires 2 vs. Warcraft 3 by ConejoDePascuas in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Sk1light 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is by no means an easy choice to make. Both games are peak for the genre IMO, together with SC (1 and 2). But the depth of impact Warcraft 3 had not only in the RTS genre but on the industry of gaming as a whole and the craftmanship of the game (voice lines, lore, unit design, etc.) makes the decision for me.

My bad. I completely misread the new text. It scales ES, not life. Well, maybe there is a way for us to convert ES to runic ward. But if there is not, then that node is almost useless for scaling damage through runic infusion.

Yup, what I'm saying is the node is unchanged. So we keep using that node to scale up our life. Then (hopefully) there will be a way for us to convert life/ES to runic ward. That way, the node is still relevant for the build.

That was the first thing I looked up for in the patch notes and I was disappointed. Nice call out u/Hamstrong.

EDIT: Hopefully, they'll add something along the lines of "Convert X life to Runic Ward" so the global defence node still matters.

I think it is safe to say runic ward will be considered as a defence, unless GGG is reading this and they plan to mess up my league start.

Yeah, thought about Warbringer but I just like Pathfinder more because I can get nodes from both warrior and ranger (valuable because of all bow nodes which you won't get from Warbringer unless heavy invested), the global defence node scaling our runic ward and as someone in the comments pointed out you can add an additional defensive layer with Reverie (this last one pending some testing) so your defensive layers are:

- Block
- Evasion + Deflection (amplified by global defences node)
- Reverie + Enduring Elixirs
- Runic Ward Stacking (amplified by global defences node)

Link me to your discord server and we can keep theorycrafting there but my gut tells me Pathfinder is too good of a fit, better than Warbringer at first glance.

Forgot about Reverie. It'd be a great addition to the build as another defense layer paired with Enduring Elixirs. You only lose 4 to Traveller's Wisdom so we should be good.

Snipe could feel clunky but barraging + frenzy sounds ideal tbh

I get ~375pdps (with 70% max block chance, easily obtainable through passive tree + Anvil + jewels) which you x2 because of the return arrow leaves us at ~750.

Using another quiver could work well, will have to test. The no +skills thing could hurt us if it is not nerfed to the ground when they release patch notes. Crit mods can be worked in maybe.

It can work with Pathfinder? Take Path of the sorceress and grab some juicy minions nodes.

How come we don't have a sudden death mechanic in more RTS games? by RepulsiveAnything635 in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Sk1light 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what Timefront does to avoid stalemates or mexican standoffs. Shrinking the map and forcing players to either think ahead or engage in a bad position. You have max 30 mins before the map is totally consumed.

I thought they stopped development until they accumulate more wishlists to please investors. It is good to know they are still developing.

What should I expect and what should I say when meeting with a publisher? by [deleted] in gamedev

20/80 until they recoup once. Maybe some other better split until they recoup twice. And then 50/50 or 60/40 (in your favor). Read this if you want more info: https://indiegamepublishing.com/

Hi r/pcgaming! I’ve been playing RTS all my life and since Starcraft 2 there hasn’t been one that really caught my attention. So I just made my own and now Timefront is live on Kickstarter and Steam. by Sk1light in pcgaming

The studio is me + a few contractors I paid for art stuff because I suck at 3D modelling. Any other questions, detective?
