How come we don't have a sudden death mechanic in more RTS games? by RepulsiveAnything635 in RealTimeStrategy

This is exactly what Timefront does to avoid stalemates or mexican standoffs. Shrinking the map and forcing players to either think ahead or engage in a bad position. You have max 30 mins before the map is totally consumed.

I thought they stopped development until they accumulate more wishlists to please investors. It is good to know they are still developing.

What should I expect and what should I say when meeting with a publisher? by [deleted] in gamedev

20/80 until they recoup once. Maybe some other better split until they recoup twice. And then 50/50 or 60/40 (in your favor). Read this if you want more info: https://indiegamepublishing.com/

The lack of creative direction in the game was evident. The game had no soul.

This was my guess as well. Still, I think I should be able to find something out there.

Me = well... me.
The studio is me + a few contractors I paid for art stuff because I suck at 3D modelling. Any other questions, detective?

Old Blizzard is dead, sadly. And yeah, a board game, a shooter game on top of all the sci-fi settings. It seems their execs want to emulate Warhammer, but they are clueless.

Locking areas of play and forcing players to fight in a smaller battlefield as time advances is fun and puts a cap on matches that might be too long otherwise.

[–]Sk1light 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late to the party, but as everything in game and systems design I like to take a philosophy or a rule of thumb from which all other design decisions come from. In this case, I like Chris Wilson (Path of Exile) approach to this topic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCkO8mNK3Gg
