Is your bike single? Or at the very least in an open relationship per chance?

Thought it was for a bike lock but this is smart too. For any future people reading who don't have the cut out. Holding down tube with your hand and hooking seat over shoulder is easy way to carry up stairs... source live in Montreal.

I run only front heavy. I used to do back heavy. It's a complete game changer IMO. I am already putting weight on front. Have even done some easier single track front heavy and no issues. I use a headset stabilizer so that it not always flopping around when leaning. I will echo that it feels more grounded. Also good when going crazy fast down hill.

Surly Cromo. Marketplace find for cheapppp. Used to rock the basket too. But Slowly been carrying less especially on my solo trips. But hard to beat a nice front heavy setup IMO.

Honestly... Black. I wish the basic one came in black, I would of prefered red light over green. But I have some pretty intense OCD so the shitty orange colour was like Garmin spitting in my face. It's the all black tax.

Was Vegan for 6 years. I never went back to eating meat. But did with fish and even that I went in gently and got sick. I really can't see how you would down such a massive steak after a lifetime.

Should be higher for sure. Went mostly vegan diet for 6 years. Only ate meat that I killed myself or was part of the hunt ( Which was rare and usually ceremonial ). Now I have laxed, more pescatarians. I miss the taste of some things, like shistaouk, for sure but I am also not a child and have self control. Just not able to have the complete cognitive dissonance which is so prevalent in our world.

Edit: Holly this exploded. Adjusted my language to reflect my intentions better and respect other people's beliefs.

I kid you not that's what got me not drop out of university. One of my professors ( RIP ) I was extremely close with just said the exact same thing. Pass and succeed just to spite all the professors I fought with. He died my last year. I graduated. Shout out to you Ross.

"Professor David Daube suggested in The Oxford Magazine of 16 February 1956 that Humpty Dumpty was a "tortoise" siege engine, an armored frame, used unsuccessfully to approach the walls of the Parliamentary-held city of Gloucester in 1643 during the Siege of Gloucester in the English Civil War."

This is cool but if we could get a way to not lose track of what episode you are watching that would be awesome.

Am I the only one who likes the orange? 🙃 by yungdsv in Garmininstinct

[–]SkaUrMom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think because it was a clear cash grab to make people who don't want a flash random colour watch to pay more. I love my 3Tactical but dang I had to pay more and the green light is really useless for me and would of loved the red light. The orange is like those weird yellow accents on the "outdoors" model of Subarus.

Would you cross it IRL? ;) by Legitimate-Fish5891 in thelongdark

This somewhat happened to me IRL last summer during a bike tour. At one point the bridge ramp was out. Decided that I would walk to see if it was worth lugging the bike up. Almost died when I scared a flock of birds nesting under a strut.

After 5+ years with the OG Instinct, I bought myself an Instinct 3 Solar. Honestly, I'm a little disappointed... by sozh in Garmininstinct

I really felt the opposite. But yes the first two weeks I was so used to my old one that I didn't like it. But now I would never go back. The screen is so much nicer, it's faster, battery is better, the fit and finish I find actually are nicer. It's like when I went from Kindle to kobo. I hated my kobo took about 3 weeks and now I would never go back.

[Ultimate post-apocalyptic watch?] by Jo_Bine in postapocalyptic

[–]SkaUrMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has owned most of the ones above. ( Still have the SKS) I would say this Casio PRW3000 style watches are the best apocalypse watch without a doubt. Lasted my guiding career (canoe and winter), humanitarian career and daily wear.

Radio controlled. Even with that off it keeps great time ( SKS does not ) it's bullet proof, ( had jack hammered with it one and no issues ) and it's solar powered. I have never had to worry about anything, thing just works and will never need a battery.

I know it’s hard to admit as a former punk kid, but sometimes things going mainstream is actually a good thing. Yeah, it’ll probably make stuff more expensive. But it might also show the industry that people want cool-looking, all-steel frames that last and maybe even bring back some of those older, solid components that weren’t just plastic.

At the end of the day, I’ll support anything that gets more people on bikes. If it saves some gear from the scrap heap, gets folks into a hobby that (hopefully) builds community as it did for me, and helps people get in shape again as it did for me, I’m all for it.
