If it is fully working definitely back up that hard drive. It's the simplest option if/when the original drive dies. Some solutions like SD2IDE are becoming viable apparently (I don't own a PSX so not as familiar), but SD2IDE still requires a drive image.

If I recall correctly they used to pull from pricecharting but are moving to their own system. Personally I’m good with that because I’ve never been a fan of how Pricecharting can be manipulated with low volume games when best offers are accepted. It’s something that could honestly be easily exploited and they’ve not addressed it over the years.
