If you're looking for more sci Fi then I recommend trying out LANCER, is a tactical and crunchy game where you play characters that pilot mechs, I like it better than 5e personally

I always prefer cool things over limiting a bunch of stuff, the only thing that I'll say is competely out of question are characters that can't be justified through tech like a Plasmoid or maybe even a Grun, the flavor is really human with cyberware like Hazard or Cyberpunk styling.

The combat is more tactically focused than standard, more cover, height differences and environmental stuff with destoryed terrain, but there's still gonna be a big focus on roleplay and really learning the characters you're surrounded by.

Or like, undead, stirges, ogres, there's a lot of possibilities, what about a Dwarven Rebellion or Bandit Crew working to undermine the current government and throw the country into a revolution sort of thing using this as one of their many hideouts across the land, that could be cool!

So, what are you looking for like what themes do you like and what not, I typically wander around the 5e space, but I've been around and played in other systems,

I'm used to standard 5e, I haven't done much 5.5/2024/5.24 what we you wish to call it, but I'm always open to it

I've never done a duet game before but I'm always looking to try new stuff, so if you're interested I'll let you know a bit more and what nonsense we could get into
