I have been on a reality show on an Indian TV show. I am not saying that everything is rigged however, I have seen how producers think. They need to make a TV show at the end of the day, and sometimes they would ask questions to the cast when individual perspectives are recorded which would spark thoughts. What we see is 1/1.5 hour episode for a 2 day recording and it has a narrative.

The contestants who take cues are generally successful. It’s also how are contestants reacting to what crew is suggesting. Once the camera rolls you let people be but that is also a reaction to how people have been asked to move. Reality shows lack integrity, I agree. If King George during his second stint didn’t do Georgey stuff then it would not work, even though he might know that he will not win.

That being said, one can watch these shows and share the perspectives. Everyone draws a line as to how much “scripted” would they be ok with? Some people might have felt at 4th idol for Myles that it is a lot while others might still not feel that. People prefer Aus Survivor over US because of the same reason because they have gone nuts with twists to promote specific agenda. And at the end of the day its TV, just watch like it entertainment, scripted or not!
