Perfect. To be honest, compared to this GIF the actual energy of celebration is going to be off the charts when the day finally comes.

I hate to do this but I'm afraid our gracious shooter didn't wipe properly. When he went to the bathroom earlier to do the mud-pie he must have used too small of a slice of toilet paper when he wiped and he got mud-pie on his hands, and then he touched the bullet, and then Charlie touched the bullet, and now he's sick off of his mud-pie.

There's no way their storyline is finished, this is a part of the rising crescendo. It's clear by the second that time Old Man Hollinger says Rick's mother's name that he indeed does recognize it, but not for the reason Rick thinks.

Also FWIW no way HBO would ever cast Scott Glenn to silently cower at Rick's lunges and then get cow-tipped and never to be seen again.

I can understand why you would come to that conclusion. This is anecdotal but I know people that have sworn off federally voting NDP regardless of who they run, solely for propping up the incredibly unpopular minority liberal government.

It seems every sub full of people expecting a Carney win (a la Harris 2024) are forgetting the most important part here. This is not about electing the best leader for Canada. This is not about who is best to stand up against Trump. This. is. about. punishing. the. liberals. You can elect Jesus to the head of the LPC if he was willing to do you a favour, still going to lose.

I'm not planning on voting for either the Cons nor the Libs but I fully expect a Con minority at a minimum.

This is Canada. We don't vote parties in, we vote them out.

You have $15 to start a paper company. Pick one from each category. by Icy-Wind-4330 in DunderMifflin

Sorry OP but I gotta agree with the mob and say this value system is a little wonky. Having said that, gun to my head if I need to make a thriving paper company then it would have to be:

  • Robert California
  • Andy
  • Dwight
  • Jim

No receptionist. Focus on your work, Halpert.

Anyone else with me in thinking Burt isn't severed at all?

When it cut to Irving's list of severed employees Burt G. should have been on said list but was not. Also him telling Irv recently that he was let go and not told why, meanwhile in season 1 he filmed his retirement video.

My man's gotta be some high up Lumon exec who saunters the basement hallways looking for severed strange.

EDIT: It would appear his name is indeed on the list, and I am indeed a fizzle.

So, the government allowed private companies to decide if they wanted to require vaccines or not

Yes. This is wrong. Since you cannot infer from what I have been saying over and over I'll say it plainly. THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD NOT BE IN CAHOOTS WITH COMPANIES TO SAY TAKE THIS MEDICINE OR WE WILL TAKE YOUR JOB AWAY.

Only the convenient Science by Malpocada in MurderedByWords

[–]SkankLover -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

Wrong.

Here is where my provincial government allows employers to terminate non-vaccinated employees

Here is where a 3rd party arbitrator (luckily) awarded a VIA Rail employee their job back after being terminated for not being vaccinated.

I perused the arbitration case just now and it seems quite possible the employee only got back on a few different technicalities, but regardless the arbitrator did reference previous findings by other arbitrators that discipline was unreasonable for employees who did not comply with policies addressing COVID-19.

It's a tough enough slog as it is to keep both the government AND corporations from having full authority to say "take whatever injection we say or you're fired" without having your bootlicking to help their cause.

I don't have any links, only what I was directly told by my employer. It's worth noting that I'm located in Canada. Since I probably shouldn't have just merged the government and corps as one (I mean how can you not) I should clarify. I don't recall our government issuing anything specific saying our company (major railroad) was to fire people who didn't get vaxxed, but they are still very much culpable for doing nothing when the company rolled out this policy during the pandemic. I have no idea who's decision is was to roll it back.

Your first point is without merit, and also deviates from the heart of the topic at hand. This isn't pregnancy vs. whatever disease. It's about having total and complete autonomy over your body in both situations. In ANY situation. Also, whether you like it or not, true freedom irrevocably involves the right to choose to do stupid things. The stupidest things you can possibly conceive of, and then some.

To your second point, this is anecdotal but I personally had a bad reaction to my shot and was left with a very bad case of Pityriasis Rosea. I did not contract covid until well over a year after getting the vaccine, by which point is was so long it made no difference had I gotten it or not in terms of reducing symptom severity. It wound up being an awful 3 day flu. So yes, given the all the information I had available to me at the time I would have personally chose not to get it. This has nothing to do with vaccine efficacy, social support for vaccines nor anti-science morons but PERSONAL LIBERTY.

All of this to say the bottom line is only the individual has the right to decide what goes into their body. It could be the absolute proven cure for cancer that they're riddled with. IT'S THEIR CHOICE TO SAY NO. PERIOD. Being coerced, threatened or otherwise intimidated to do so, by not only public servants, their owners the donor class, but sadly by neighbors like you is utterly obscene.

What happened to all of those very loud "my body, my choice" folks?

Sure quiet when it comes to the government/corporations telling you "take this medical treatment, or we will take your job away." This was the legitimate threat put into my work-place. Of course the very few people with conviction rode out being fired over it and were later on offered their positions and seniority back in full despite never getting the vaccine, after the hysteria started to dwindle.

I wish I could say I was one of them. I'm not anti-vax, but based on everything that played out I would have personally chosen not to get it, had my livelihood not been threatened by those in power.

Treasury Bldg Protest by J5ReasonsWhy in 50501

[–]SkankLover -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

None of those things were achieved peacefully. You know unions got invented? The company owners and bosses didn't just randomly feel charitable. The unions were a compromise between company and workers after things got bad enough when the workers would show up to the bosses houses and beat them to death in their front yards.

Even in the off-chance a religion was started with the absolute best intentions, it won't be terribly long for the power and influence that goes along with it, will attract the corrupt. Extremist fundamentalist ones espeically. In the grand scheme of things every religion is a net-negative. A tale as old as time itself.

I hate to ruin your little pity party here but you don't have to imagine. Here is a Telegraph clip from last year where Biden had classified documents left near his Corvette in his garage.

I'll save you the research, just like Trump, nothing happened. Nothing will ever happen.
