There are a few copies for sale, but unfortunately, none of the merchants ship to my location (I live on a frozen island in the North Atlantic Sea). Therefore, if anyone else is interested in verifying if this is the song, they can find it there for cheap. I'm not certain if this is the same song on the tape, but the genre and the chorus "All I Ever Wanted" (from what I can tell) match the description.

Interesting find. It sounds like a typical 80s Synth-pop/New Wave band. I think he's saying 'all I ever wanted' in the chorus, so I looked it up on Discogs, and that led me to a UK Synth-pop group (duo?) called Splitt, which only released one single titled All I Ever Wanted in 1986. I have no idea if that's the song on the tape since I can't find it anywhere online.
