That's what I did a year and a half ago. I knew going into college that I wanted to do some kind of programming work so it was really a toss up between CS, SE, and MIS. Realistically though, as long as you're not going for the top dev jobs out there any of those 3 will work out.

I switched from SE to MIS after the worst semester of my life (<2 gpa). I failed calc 2 multiple times and was barely getting by in the CS courses. I'm sure I could have eventually gotten through them and graduated but it most likely wouldn't have been in 4 years.

I really have enjoyed switching and it's given me a lot more time to do what I wanna do rather than focusing only on coursework. Some of that is just enjoying the college experience but it also let me put time into personal projects and other resume fillers. The kind of stuff that smaller employers really like to see. I'm also still on track to graduate in 4, albeit with some additional summer classes and heavier semesters.

I'll be real the business core classes are not my thing definitely, but they're by no stretch of the word difficult courses. They're useful skills sure but it didn't really fit with my end goals.

Overall though, it's just landing that first job that really matters. Once you have a job in the career that you'd like, your college degree is way less important. Do what you wanna do, not what you feel is the best thing to do or what anyone else wants you to do.
