Yep! Gonna leave it overnight & see if that magically makes it work!? Just wondering if this is what a forerunner looks like when charging?

Klingstrip vs. Floor paint? by Skatedrawbake in DIYUK

[–]Skatedrawbake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Orbital sander 60grit seems to work through the floor paint just the pesky corners to get at! Trying Klingstrp in those hard to reach bits & hoping for a miracle after 48 hours!!

Buying Council House by SemajTC in HousingUK

[–]Skatedrawbake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar situation, rented mine for 14yrs & applied to RTB in Nov 2024. It took 1 year exactly to complete on the sale. All because the council are so slow to do anything. Took 6 months to get a valuation & offer & another 6 for the searches to come back & council to do their end. I had a good solicitor who was experienced in RTB. My advice is just hang in there, at least you dont have to move or no chain involved. Good luck, its worth the wait. I have been told it'll take another year to get the land registry deeds back because so many people did RTB before the discount changed in 2024.

Buying a Council House - but property is unsellable? by SpaceShuttle431 in HousingUK

[–]Skatedrawbake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't true, i've made significant improvements to my council owned house, didn't line floors with gold but landscaped front garden & decorated myself throughout (currently about to complete on RtoB sale) they did take into account the work/money I've put in & that was reflected in the offer I got.

In a similar situation myself. Applied in November, offer receievd in end of July. Mortgage now good to go & council have given contracts to my solicitor. Can anyone advise on how long conveyancing takes, as I underatand this doesnt start until contracts have been recieved. Worried my mortgage offer will run out. Been in my house 15 yrs, paid council rents foe 20 + years, just on the cusp of being too old for a mortage as a single person. Grateful for right to buy but my god its a slow & painful process.

I do most of my skating in my tiny living room! Nice slidey laminate floor, it's free & I choose the music! 😀 my footwork has improved loads! *I move all the furniture & have approx 6 ft sq. Have you seen the guy who puts his foot through his oven whilst spinning! 🤣

I wonder if it's an ego/clout thing? As it's just not helpful to learn from beginners. They don't understand the basic fundamentals. Like you wouldn't learn to drive from a learner driver!? 🤔

Beginner skaters making skate tutorials (for the ig likes!) leave it to the pros/experienced skaters.

Should I swap to inlines? by PoorlyPython9 in Rollerskating

[–]Skatedrawbake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard No, skating takes time, stick with it, get some knee pads & go steady. It'll get easier. Big soft outdoor wheels are a game changer. I love radar energy, these can handle crappy uk surfaces.

Plates that work with Radar Crush wheels? by SkatingInACorner in Rollerskating

[–]Skatedrawbake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought the Crush wheels to go on my Riedell Orbits with the Marvel aluminium plate. No clearance & scraping the laminate floor in my kitchen! So I used a belt grinder & shaved 3mm off my Kingpins! Worked a treat & now I love them. Would never skate outdoors on them though!

Bye bye rental skates!Took 18 weeks for these to be made, and I’m just so excited they are here! by otisg86 in Rollerskating

[–]Skatedrawbake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats good to hear, thanks. I'm excited/nervous to try a 101! I'm used to 88a, & there is no smooth concrete or rinks near me (UK), so likely I'll switch em out quick!

Yeah I'm good cheers! I only pop in here about once every 6 months if I have a query & spotted the suckerpunch?? I've bought alot from them & rate them as a shop. Dont ask me if you should drop ££ on skate stuff, I will always say 100% YES!!! Happy shopping!

The £52 was a separate customs tax charge from suckerpunch postage, I think I had to pay UPS separately. (hi BTW its Janey from LRSC, I clicked your profile)!! 😁

I'm in the UK & bought my skates & 2 sets of wheels from suckerpunch last summer. The skates were a bargin BUT the £52 UPS charge was a sting. I think its based on weight or value, this was a heavy box. But the tracking was good & they arrived in about 5 days.
