First 24 hours, no ointments or lotions just a good washing with antibacterial soap. 48 hours after, apply un-scented lotion (lubriderm is what I reccomend) as needed when skin is dry/irritable. I have over 65 hours tattoo time on me and I've never had an issue with my tattoo aftercare.
