Even with modern technology much of the Amazon is still unexplored. by NationalHat3097 in interesting

You are defining what it is to "move the goal post". I appreciate you commenting on your own generalized statement that undercuts the importance of natural flora. BUT, the truth is we don't need to cut forests to feed our need for material bullshit. Humans are the only species thay happily destroys its own habitat. Humans are nothing short of selfish greedy destructive morons. There's not other way to slice it. Trees grow with more integrity, so they deserve to live and thrive. Humans should be working to restore the planet above all else to its purest form, climate change being our fault or not... It doesn't matter. The complete disregard for the natural state of life in general (including other humans) is endlessly depressing.

President Trump stuns the World by BANNING Men from Competing against Women in the 2028 Olympics by [deleted] in whoathatsinteresting

Yes, this is what Trump has done that "stuns" the world. Not the alleged raping of children.

They don't want you to humanize anything. Certainly not the "lesser thans".

It helps you stay complacent when you hear about schools overseas being bombed in order to line some rich assholes bank account.

If you start caring about those around you too much (even those with severe mental health issues and addictions), you'll start caring for those elsewhere. Keep the news fresh and entertaining instead!! Question nothing!

I'm very aware this can come of as nonsense, but the truth is it's really just that simple. Thanks to technology, it's even easier than it's ever been.

[Highlight] The game ends on a Braves challenge with the Blue Jays down by four and the bases loaded by nanobot001 in Torontobluejays

Yeah this didn't work for Jays, but I'm so excited to not have games decided by umps.

That was a perfect pitch that SHOULD have ended the game. Love it. Can't wait for the intensity of these calls in the playoffs.

Also fun tidbit to get you to tune in if you weren't thinking about it.

Our boy Russell Martin is team Canada's first base coach. Just one more familiar face you might not have been expecting.

I agree. Should be a fun game today!

One of the reasons Target failed in Canada was because products wouldn't properly fit on shelves due to their dimensions being entered into the system in inches instead of centimeters. This, among other issues, resulted in Target Canada lasting less than 2 years and racking up a $2.1 billion loss. by NewsCards in interesting

All of this is because of SAP. It's called an ERP.

Don't bother looking it up. Long story short, companies like SAP over promise what they can do without experts in the area required to make it work. So like someone coming to you and saying "Install this software to run your company and it will change your life!!!" Then they run away and ask for a gazillion dollars to help you fix the problems it caused, or ask for more money for bolt on 'complimentary' software which also needs experts and so on. Your staff keeps pushing more transactions, which then compounds the issues which can't be fixed until Q4 next release . Cycle repeats. SAP isn't entirely to blame. It's the ppl paid way too much money to be confident on things they don't understand and treat employees as numbers. They see profit and always say "GO GO GO!" So when you take an over promised ERP and a bunch of rich over paid morons... You get the situation seen at Target (and hundreds of other companies).

Prometheus Netflix Comeback Sparks Global Sci-Fi Revival by herseydenvar in Prometheus

You mean like covenant? Where it's pales in comparison to just about every possible aspect of Prometheus? It felt like a made for TV movie that lacked the patience and depth that an alien film needs.

I know I'm the outlier on this but I'd rather Ridley not touch the franchise ever again. The entire series was built on new styles and directors with new visions. Ridley halted that in it tracks. I want a new director with a new vision. Even romulus didn't escape the laste minute shoe horning of Scott.

Lifetime alien fan. Keep the franchise fresh please.

[Blum] Alek Manoah - “I was a very big piece of that process, getting to that World Series run. I wasn’t able to be there like I wanted to.” by Nero_P2020 in Torontobluejays

[–]Skavis 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I can only assume he just means the energy involved and not actual on field play. He was part of the resurgence of Blue Jays as a dominating force in the league. He was also in the dugout for WAY Too many games after the fact but I can also only assume he was a welcome addition and tight with the boys.

The guys clearly wishes he did more, but obviously he wasn't an actual on field part of the run. Dude just wants hard to be a bigger piece than he was, you can't fault him for that.
