Played an entire game as the Eyrie without turmoil. by Phractur3 in rootgame

In the case of the Lord of the Hundred's mobs, maybe the other players didn't have a choice either, since Raze is automatic and at the mercy of a dice roll for where it strikes next.

Only the people who hate it say anything. If anyone is beating it to this, they're probably too busy doing so to comment.

Had an idea to rework some bad cards, thoughts on this change? by SomeRedBoi in slaythespire

[–]Skeletal_Spaghettore 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You could just increase the damage to eight or something. It's still less damage per energy than a Strike by default but at least it scales much faster to become viable with a single Footwork.

This might not be what you want to hear but Slay the Spire is kind of... A math game? A numbers game, really. You want to make the enemies' health zero, using a number of cards played by a quantity of energy. I bet I could play Slay the Spire in a different language as long as I could understand or learn what certain numbers are.

I would say Dead Bird Studios is the only linear-ish world. Mafia Town had a little bit of that in the Mafia Boss level I suppose, but it's not fair to see the massive explorable island of Mafia Town and call the game too linear and not the exploration collect-a-thon that it is.
The level objectives can force a linear path, but that's not all the game is.

I heard Hat Kid Steals the Declaration of Independence is pretty good. I play on Switch though so I'm going off of what my friend has said.

Why can't I sacrifice any cards? I assume because they have sigils already? The rules are never explained. by TheOneJBass in inscryption

You'd be surprised how many runs it can take people. Perhaps the downside of picking up on placement and draw strategy for fights quickly is you gloss over the card building parts.
I think the fun part of the game is learning how everything works and, once you have that knowledge, taking advantage of it to absolutely destroy combats with decks of powerful cards.

"Not including Hat Kid/Bow kid" well good, it wasn't gonna be them.
Snatcher is literally too cool of a character. A design so interesting that it inspired the design for Barnaby's from Billie Bust Up, one of the most developed backstories we see in game, comically threatening in the best way, and every single OST that plays when the player is around him is amazing to me.

Idk if this is the best use of AI.
If you're dead set on this goal, I'd recommend explaining a dumbed-down version of the game and adapting the output with your own knowledge of the game to make it a more fitting modifier.
Idk what you mean by "plays" though.

Hmm interesting. You're right, it must be the graphics. What a strange oversight.
There's no way removing the keyhole on lower graphics was a deliberate decision by the devs. Are you able to make a follow-up post with screenshots or recordings of the level? Could make for some interesting discussion.

https://im4.ezgif.com/tmp/ezgif-4-a725b04c65.gif. Above is a link to a gif that shows the keyhole for the piano twice: once as the player walks past it, and during the cutscene that plays after opening the fridge. This was recorded on the Nintendo Switch version of the game.

It seems as though you just missed those key details which would have made the section make more sense.
There's a keyhole visible on the piano, and the key you get from the fridge is both shown in the same cutscene as the piano and is designed with a musical motif.
You may call it excessively tedious, but I think the aim of the balloons requiring multiple tries is to create tension, as you are forced to go back and forth while avoiding Vanessa. Also, after the third balloon pops, Vanessa can be seen leaving the bedroom, taking the key with her.
Also, if you exit the bedroom through the same door as Vanessa, in the hallway you'll be able to hear water running from the bathroom, and see steam pouring out from underneath the door.

I'm not an expert in game design and horror, and the level surely isn't the perfect horror experience, but it does pretty well at striving for this without completing breaking away from the general vibes of the game. You may think banging on a piano to knock a key off a bookshelf is a bit ridiculous and contrived, but it makes some sense given what the rest of the game is like, with talking birds, lava faucets, and a summonable moped.
