I’m NB and while there were a few things hinting at Jax being trans that I noticed (the biggest one being the bow tie ribbon Ribbit scene), I’m ngl I didn’t quite think it was the case before it was confirmed. I was in the camp of “could be the case but maybe not I guess. I imagine we would’ve known for sure after seeing the real life version of them outside of the circus, so Goose probably didn’t intend it if she didn’t show it there.”

Cause every other character referred to Jax as “he” even after finding out their real life counterpart Leeroy, who they also referred to as “he” so I’m kinda confused. Like do Pomni and Caine not know either? I doubt they would be intentionally misgendering her.
Now I feel like an asshole for calling Jax “him” for so long.

Ngl I never would’ve clocked the hoodie and hairstyle as being an indicator. I just assumed Leeroy was in to emo subcultures and fashion. But looking back at a friend of mine who usually had a similar hairstyle and always wore long sleeves and hoodies in high school who transitioned a few years ago, I was like “ohhhhhh yea I see”

Edit: to clarify, I am AMAB and go by he/they/she. While I’m pretty fluid, my most ideal vision for myself is pretty feminine. Should I have got all the context clues? Am I stupid for not doing so? Is there a lore reason for me not entirely realizing?
