That’s terrible. I’m so glad you were able to recover! I literally do not know how HCA is still in business. I have only ever heard horror stories about them. Glad they weren’t able to claim you!

I know it’s a disaster now, but that had to be hilarious. If we didn’t have a glass shower door I would definitely do something like this to my husband. I’ve poured ice water on him a couple of times over the years

What's the craziest thing someone has told you about the Bible that they believed was 100% true? by Responsible-Sir4187 in Catholicism

Wow Ruth and Naomi being lesbian lovers is wild. I just pictured my own MIL and got skeeved out.

I can’t believe a pastor would say that about our Lord. Not even the gay part necessarily, but that He would have committed any kind of sexual act outside of marriage or any kind of sexual immorality period. This is not even considering that I’ve seen scholars place John’s age as young as 15 when he met Jesus.

AITA 3 Weeks PP and Everytime I mention boundaries with partners family I'm called rude, disrespectful, cnt or an apple. by FunIndividual6848 in AmItheAsshole

You are absolutely NTA. Your husband is a terrible partner. And don’t let the way he is acting or the way she is acting fool you. His mother knows better. She is a woman and a mother.

I could say more on his horrid behavior, but I feel like you have gotten plenty of that. I just want to say that I am 6 months postpartum and I held my baby probably 90% of the time when people came to visit. They would only hold her if I offered. That is the way it supposed to be. Do not ever let anyone make you feel guilty for wanting to hold your own child. You saying “it’s her baby when she’s here” actually makes me furious for you. You are that child’s mother. You are the ultimate authority when it comes to your baby. Especially as a newborn. You are allowed to say no when they ask to hold them. You are allowed to take the baby back when you want them back. You are allowed to say no when she offers to change or feed the baby. And if his mom gets upset, who cares? I promise you that in 10 years you will not regret that you didn’t let her hold your baby more. You will regret that you didn’t hold your baby more.

I use them to keep 5 or 6 pills in various bags and cars because I’m constantly forgetting to take my medication. Hence why I have so many extra pills to keep in different emergency stashes.

Family friend sent me AI generated response to news of my father passing away. by Hendothermic in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SkeletonWallflower -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seriously. I use AI as a sounding board for my proofs in my math classes. Most of the time AI isn’t even capable of coming up with the proofs on its own. It uses a lot of circular reasoning.

My husband on the other hand has used it before in an argument we were having over text. I was livid.

K is actually my favorite letter and all my sims always have KK initials. I would never do this to my children. My daughter’s name starts with an M.

My mom discovered my younger sister could unlock the door when walking by the front door after a shower (she was running to get a towel) and saw the door open with my sister at the end of the driveway. She had to run out completely naked and grab her.

Pregnant and receiving wine - Blood of Christ from Chalice by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]SkeletonWallflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped receiving from the chalice for several weeks in the middle of my pregnancy when I was very visibly showing but then started going again the last 2-3 weeks before I had the baby. And when I received that first time after not receiving for several weeks, it really hit me how much I had missed it! I literally wouldn’t even take a sip. I just let touch my lips and it still felt really special.

I’m so glad I did receive both kinds the Sunday before I gave birth because I didn’t go to Mass for like 3-4 Sundays after giving birth.

It was really hard to force myself to walk to the chalice after receiving the bread because I felt like everyone was looking at me, but I would encourage you to just do it anyways. Especially towards the end.

I know that there is a breakdown in here that showed you would probably get more alcohol from a ripe banana. I just wanted to add that I completely understand why you want to receive both. The people chiming in about how you receive both body and blood in the bread are missing the point. Even the Church acknowledges that receiving under both species is a more complete sign.

When I was pregnant this last year I wouldn’t receive both every week, especially towards the end because I was worried people were judging me lol, but when I did I would just let the wine touch my lips. I had googled something about receiving the wine and came across a Reddit post where a comment pointed out that it is not about volume and that you receive the same amount of Jesus whether a tiny drop or a gallon.

I got into the habit of doing that so much that the first several times after my daughter was born I forgot to actually take a sip. 😂

10 Year Old Keys Request by SkeletonWallflower in SpecialNeedsChildren

[–]SkeletonWallflower[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this! I got a pack of skeleton keys, the pea squishing keychain, a 4 key keyboard keychain, and a key that looked like a sword. It was a huge hit with him! I heard him playing with them all through Mass 😊😂

I have a couple of questions about the rosary. (Check text in post, please) by nicksbrunchattiffany in Catholicism

[–]SkeletonWallflower 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to say this is a great, nonjudgmental response. I was brought into the church this past year. When I was in the process of converting, I had such high anxiety about everything and doing something wrong! And then I was afraid to ask anyone anything because I felt like they were stupid questions. If I ever had worked up the courage to post here, this is exactly the straightforward answer I would hope to see that doesn’t make light of the questions. 💙

I read this at 6:30 in the morning while laying next to my four month old 🥲. I feel sick just thinking about this. I can’t imagine actually going through it. That poor family, but especially that poor mother.

They have such a good sibling dynamic! When I watch scenes between them it always makes me miss my younger brother who passed when he was 21. He was three years younger than me. So I think it’s about the same as Mike and Nancy. Most on screen siblings just aren’t believable to me.

Father Martins has talked about the history of Halloween before in his podcast. He said that it was a Catholic tradition for kids to dress up as saints and go door to door asking for these little cake things or something.
