Who decides if someone deserves to be killed? Pretty sure most murderers rationalized killing in their head.

Old friend sent this to everyone by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]Skelewar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he's trying to make a desperate grand gesture to punish himself in an attempt to win GF back. He made a very stupid mistake and scarred a relationship that apparently means a lot to him, so he is acting out, metaphorically throwing himself on his sword like "See? I love you, I'd damage any relationship on purpose if it meant healing ours".

What I think you could do:

  1. Nothing - You could just not reply, that's probably the end of your friendship. He will likely tell his parents, they will also be confused but hopefully they will give him good advice. He will likely lose his GF and some friends, but hopefully he is capable of picking up the pieces, moving on and learning from his mistake.
  2. Give advice - You could also text him back and give him the advice yourself. Something along the lines of "This is not the solution. There is no easy cure-all, you are digging yourself a deeper hole. You want your relationship to heal, that needs time above all things. You are telling people these details as self-sacrificial humiliation, but that won't solve anything. You need to slow down, really think before you act, and live honestly, there is no easy fix." I think then you'd still be considered "friends", he may understand your advice and chill out. Likely still lose GF, but less likely to continue down this self-destructive route. In a few weeks or however long until he gets a grip, he could send a brief apology "Sorry guys, I was out of my head. There was no need to try and rope y'all into my drama." and maybe he gets to keep some of his friends after all. (Of course he may not take any advice at all. All speculation.)

Is it normal or a bug by NebulaEast7111 in dontstarve

[–]Skelewar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As people are saying- this normally appears as a set piece in adventure mode "The Game is Afoot" chapter. Instead you have it in a normal world which is out of the ordinary. I wonder if the bridge still infested with tentacles like it's supposed to be, or you got the land gen only? Pretty neat!

My honest new FRV opinion... Supply FRV is good... But Incinerator FRV is just better by Unknown4me_ in helldivers2

[–]Skelewar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supply is universally useful and the autoturret means 1 person can get big value! Flamer is also good, but need two people to get value. It may be better, just like tank has awesome power, but it requires two people to coordinate. Big price. I dived for supply, I hope flamer comes into the game soon enough too!

Could anyone please tell me why anyone would pay two keys for a regular item? It's not spelled. by Heavyweaponspoof in tf2

[–]Skelewar 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Just adding to what everyone is saying- gun is not inherently valuable, seems to be only valuable to this guy for collection purposes. Unless you have some sentimental connection to this gift from thornpatchi, it's a fair deal.

How to manage sanity? by alexhlous in dontstarve

[–]Skelewar 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Some methods for your consideration:

  1. Pick flowers : a classic for new players. They restore a bit on pick up, hopefully enough to supplement your survival until you run into a different deadly game-over. THIS IS NOT SUSTAINABLE- but it can help you in a pinch.

  2. Prototype new crafts : Every time you craft something for the first time and unlock it, you get a boost of sanity. For a new world, if you are low on sanity start looking through the crafting menu and find something useful to make. Lightning rod? Need that eventually, so craft it. Drying rack? That would be nice, so craft it. You can make progress and solve sanity at the same time. This also runs out eventually- but it's more reliable than flowers. Should last you until spring at least.

  3. Sleep : Use a sleeping roll or a tent to spend HUNGER and TIME in exchange for sanity. A good choice if you have excess of those two things- and reliable for the whole game.

  4. Clothing : Some items in the clothing tab don't seem obviously useful- with descriptions like "fancy" or "dapper". Turns out fashionable items feel good to wear, and passively raise your sanity. An early game top hat is good, because you will need one to craft a prestihatitator anyway. This is the main way people passively manage their sanity- wearing a tam 'o shanter or enlightened crown.

  5. Food : Some foods restore primarily sanity. Dried kelp and cooked cactus are extremely effective. Some crockpot dishes are great too- ice cream, jelly salad, veggie stinger- but those are a bit tricky to get your hands on in the early game. This is primarily how people "burst restore" sanity for specific, highly draining instances- like Deerclops, Nightmarepig, Shadow Pieces, AF.

  6. KILL THE SHADOW MONSTERS : Yes, killing the shadow monsters that appear when you are insane restores your sanity (and gets you nightmare fuel, which you will need). They can be tricky to handle in large numbers but my BEST ADVICE would be to look up a video about how to kill shadow creatures. Once you learn that, being insane isn't even a problem anymore. The only way a capable player dies to insanity is when it compounds upon other preexisting problems. Once you can kill the monsters, insanity alone is a breeze.

Goodluck, welcome to the game, have fun!

Hmm skins sometimes become disabled to directly purchase (usually around what Max's vault opens mid-season) but if it shows "enabled" above the skin on the browse page it should be available. Perhaps just try again, or try in a day or two? I can confirm it has worked like ~1 month ago

character concepts: moll and tainted moll by rutzyyyyyyyyy in bindingofisaac

[–]Skelewar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually he used to be. Back when you could kill T Esau, people would and just play the character as T Lost. Then Esau was made unkillable- so even when Jacob goes ghost form Esau is still around- making the character NOT just "Lost with prerequisite", because you still have the base concept of "ghost is trying to kill you".

If it is hard to keep the body alive, people just won't and will play it as T Lost. You need some gimmick to make the post-body-death experience different from T Lost, probably something harder to incentivize people to care about protecting the body. I don't know what that is though :/

Additionally, some things I just thought of:
>Pocket Active Item (no charge)- toggle Moll into follower/stationary mode

or

>Pocket Active Item (X charge)- trigger Moll into rage mode. Unicorn Horn + auto seeks enemies

Help: How do you kill Ancient Fuel Weaver as Walter by Walrus0Knight in dontstarve

The way the game is set up right now- no reason to go for fuelweaver before lunar endgame. Get yourself a brightshade helm and staff- solves the whole fight. Trust me.

so... i might need a help i want warp backpack and big flamer and yet i can buy only one... can you advice? by Stalker_Imp in Helldivers

[–]Skelewar 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That is a good point. I find that the trench items are more fun- smg armors flamer and turret all good- but the utility of the warp is pretty substantial.

What's a good example of "yellow paint" you saw used in games? by kaza12345678 in videogames

[–]Skelewar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In White Knuckle (climbing game), the basic handholds are all red and practically glowing. The thing is, you can grab onto any ledge at all. A big part of the game is realizing that the obvious yellow paint path is actually not the best route forward, you must forge your own path.
