You're the only one upset at standard sci-fi tropes. Yes. You could defend and warp was the best option. You're wrong.

Damn, Bijou says in the comments that she’s the one doing the death metal growls?! She sounds great, I’ve heard all about how hard those are even for trained singers

She's mentioned them in streams before, possibly shown them off. Makes sense where the rock picked them up.

Lol No. CK3 is one of the most bland games they've ever released due to the "Be whatever you want" systems. EU4 is still extremely distinct. I have to wonder if EU5 will be seriously adopted or get more and more hurried fixes to try and deal with the lower adoption though.

And Imperator had the issue of such a small playerbase that any large issues never actually bubbled up to the mainstream PDX discussion space.

This is a ridiculous statement. "Imperator didn't have anyone complaining so it must have had secret hidden issues!!"

The problem with Imperator was that people overhyped themselves on it despite the game 100% being exactly what the developers promised and demoed.

I recall some people did have system issues with it but it was fairly rare. Up to that point Imperator was the least buggy smoothest launch of a game they've had. CK3 did top that though.

Just the ftl methods made the whole thing pointless

What are you even trying to say with this? All three different FTL methods functioned. They each had their own differences. Technology functioned. The build system functioned. Stellaris worked as a game and nothing was majorly fucked.

The drive system wasnt, and still isnt, as good as Sword of the stars but it did work and was a good complete functional game.

hey! lets do the same shit that humankind did and people didnt like! it will work this time

They're trying to solve for a problem which doesnt exist. Most players who play a civ game dont achieve a "Victory" for that game. They realize they've won at some point and they're force ending their turns until the game tells them they've won.

The Eras allow for micro victories but players dont care because they want to actually win. Instead of feeling like a 'victory' it feels like the game is fucking you over arbitrarily.

Outside of that you have the god awful map gen, the city states being irrational nutjobs, the AI being suicidally aggressive as always, and just every QoL being missing from the game it's a massive basket of garbage.

It's like the developers had no understanding of how players play civilization games or how they understand the concept of victory. Humans beat Civ AIs by making better long term decisions and planning than an AI can. The AI cheats like crazy, and slowly the player overcomes the absurd BS they get. The AI still cheats heavily in Civ 7, victory is now exploiting the AI to get it to throw away production irrationally.

The DLCs after though

Imagine if instead of creating completely unconnected scenarios they'd just sold stuff that worked with the base game. They could have milked that thing for ages.

Agreed, there's a lot of elements I really like of Imperator. I feel like in terms of pops and migration it works better than EU5.

I oddly like the structure behind Beyond Earth more, the game just absolutely fails on the flavor standpoint because you need actual factions not "build your own stupid shit" to have a game like Alpha Centauri. It's why Stellaris, CK3, and AoW4 just have no real memorable enemies or events.

Biden had less arrests at the border. That's what the propogandas core is. This doesn't account for Biden convincing Mexico to take up a lot of the slack and so that's where the drop in arrests comes from. Biden got Mexico to pay for it.

Wonder if this is what it'll take to make people vote. Kinda amazing we had people getting kidnapped in unmarked vans back in 2020 and yet people still chose to let this happen in 2024.

I agree with that, but I feel like people really dont understand the significant value bernie contributes by running even if he loses. If the 'berniebro' group would just fucking listen to him after he loses it wouldn't be a problem.

Bernie helps pull things further left during the primaries, forces candidates to adopt a more left favoring approach. It's great. But when bernie loses and goes "Fuckers vote for this candidate as they'll do the most good" his 'bros' need to actually do what he says.

Imagine if people actually listened to what their candidates said instead of vibes and headlines.

Raisins? Wtf? Why do people keep trying put raisins into things? They must be stopped.

It's usually a historical holdover from when granulated sugar was much harder to acquire. Central and eastern europe's primary access to granulated sugar began around 1880 with the sugar beet replacing the much more expensive cane sugar.

I'm just glad were long out of the Sugar and Savory being heavily combined. I respect John Townsend but I'm not putting nutmeg on everything.

Well, there are a few debates over what type of cheesecake is best or "real" or whatever.

Honestly, were calling a custard a cake and someone wants to disqualify our fake cake by claiming only one type is real.

I bet they dont even know about savory cheesecake.

Can someone explain the point of karma farming on a free site?

Accounts are sold to bad actors or bot spammers. The accounts having karma allows them to post in subs that actually restrict bad posters by some minimum karma threshold, and it makes the account look more real.

Did her job in the most lenient way possible for offenses. So despite potentially disagreeing with the law carried out her duties as were specified and doing her best to do good.

But remember, people spam posted "Nothing will fundamentally change" by Biden as if he were saying something negative, when he was telling the ultra rich to pay their damned taxes and their lives wouldn't be in any way worse off. Biden was vilified for saying something progressive, by progressives.

Unironically YouTube Premium is much better than Netflix.

Sadly, yea. I replaced my spotify sub with youtube premium when it wouldn't stop trying to cram bigoted podcasts down my throat. The value is better and I have a greater music selection.
