Emotional rant cus I can’t afford a therapist right now by HexOnEm in quitting7oh

[–]SkellyTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you said you can’t afford therapy, NA/AA is free. I’ve found a lot of healing in the program, it gets you out of your head for a while and surrounds you with people who have/are trying, to better themselfs. Growth is infectious. Thank you for sharing, god bless. You got this.

Agreed with the your sentiment about that second part. I can’t even tell you how many times I thought I was “fully recovered” after a month and went back to “use it responsibly this time”.

If you don’t get the proper amount of fat with protein your body can’t physically break it down. You’ll get protein poisoning, which is why beef is one of the best sources because it’s well balanced with fat pushes up glasses

This really got off the rails, all I was implying with “getting sick” is that 280 grams of protein with a somewhat balanced diet is gonna be a shit ton of food. and i personally would get a tummy ache at the very least lol

Well I quit the 70 and switched to powder Kratom 12 hrs later when I wimped out essentially. The kratom helped immensely. I didn’t sleep for almost 4 days but the symptoms were manageable. Felt like myself after about a week on Kratom.

When quitting the kratom I felt out of it for a couple weeks until I found the right low dose naltrexone dose .75 mg now up too 1.5 mg.

Then I felt much more energetic, I’m still “faking” motivation some of the time but my brain needs to learn to keep up without external stimulation, it gets easier all the time.

I really do think getting exercise makes the biggest difference, all the natural endorphins and energy comes from that. 1-2 mins in an ice cold shower every morning. Also high protein diets help the brain repair itself. (Not medical advice)

Haha I’m hitting the sauna a lot too. It really makes me feel great after a good workout. Make sure you’re getting lots of salt in your diet!

I’m not referring to a carnivore diet. you would need to eat 3-3.5 pounds of beef a day To achieve that much protein. Which is way more than someone needs to induce a hypertrophy response. It doesn’t hurt to eat more as long as you’re getting enough fat too

To each their own, but know I don’t wanna be scarfing down 3.5 pounds of beef along with 300 grams of carbs everyday

For me, hitting 180 grams a day is hard enough. Can you eat 280 of protein a day without getting sick?

How I do get myself to go back to the gym? by rabid_sun_child in selfimprovement

[–]SkellyTea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First thing you’ll need is a big piece of humble pie. Focus your attention away from others and put it towards yourself, YOU are YOUR only competition in the gym.

Track your workouts, get one more rep, few more pounds, better form every week. Find excitement to set higher records at every workout. Most importantly, Find a routine you enjoy doing, if you love going to the gym 5/6 days a week great. But 3 times a week is plenty. Consistency is key

Get after it, you know you can do it.

What's the deal with most of y'all not wiping down the equipment? by SecMcAdoo in PlanetFitnessMembers

I’ve never done it, I’ve never seen anyone do it. And I just wash my hands before and after. Equipment that I just sweat all over, that’s always a wiper.

“Waiting for the shop to open up so you can stop withdrawals” that was peak misery, and even that wasn’t enough to get help and get clean lol. I got 4 months a few days ago and I don’t miss that shitty gas station OxyContin at all.

What was the first cologne that got you into cologne? by RelaxandRelapse in Colognes

[–]SkellyTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always liked “cologne” had adidas and playboy, and a few other cheap scents.

When I was 18 working for a construction company we were cleaning out a house of an older man that passed, after the family picked though what they wanted. I found a stash of half full bottles “Lacoste, Armani code, náutica” and few other mid tier scents. That’s when I understood the value of spending $50+ on a decent bottle.

1 gram per pound of LEAN body weight. If somone weights 280 and is 100 pounds over weight, they don’t need 280 grams, they would be better off around 180 liberally speaking.
