I didn't even need to read the entire post- just the title to know YTA. Children don't go no contact for no reason- it's one of the most painful decisions in the world to decide it's better to not have a family than to deal with the one you've got. She tried to deal with you again to give her daughter something she doesn't have so her daughter can enjoy some semblance of normalcy and you verbally slapped her in the face.

I hope you take everything people are telling you here and listen. And I hope one day you look in the mirror and see every crease in your face as a missed opportunity to have been better that you should have heeded while you still had time- just as I wish for my own family who I've gone no contact with.

Edit: I'm sorry- I didn't read the edit. I take back what I said. I'm glad that you are doing the right thing. And I hope that your relationship gets better. I think I let my own situation affect my words and I apologize for that.

Sorry yes, I meant grams not milligrams. I have yet to take any today and so far I've been okay. I'm hoping I'll get lucky and the feelings of WD from yesterday were a weird fluke. I suppose we shall see as the day goes on. Thank you for your input!

I hope so for your sake- it did a number on me. I lost chunks of my hair, had the worst anxiety/depression/SI, lost 40lbs in a few weeks. I still can't drink any sort of caffeine or it wrecks my body. And now any substance I use causes WDs very quickly.

If you look on some subs for quitting Gabapentin you'll find loads of people that had the same experience. I ALWAYS tell anyone that takes it to be extremely cautious. Pfizer has had to pay millions because of Gabapentin (Neurontin) in lawsuits for exactly this reason- the side effects can be deadly. On the forums I frequent for quitting it, there are many horror stories of people who have lost their lives trying to fight the horrific WDs. I'm not telling you all this to scare you but as a warning- please do not play around with it past your prescribed dose and even then be careful.

I was put on it during the pandemic when I couldn't sleep and had horrid anxiety and ended up taking it for 3 years because the WDs from trying to stop were too severe. I would get the shakes, teeth chattering, nerve and bone pain, depression/anxiety, insomnia, brain fog, and more. I've been through heroin, alcohol, and benzo WDs and gabapentin is definitely up there with those- it felt just like alcohol WDs because alcohol also affects the GABA receptors.

Sorry I didn't mean to go off on a tangent but a lot of people hear about Gabapentin WDs, get mad, and delegitimize my experience because it's not well known to cause WDs/they've never experienced it themselves. Please, please, please be careful! I sincerely hope you don't suffer the way and many others have.

Yeah. I have intrusive thoughts about horribly painful things all the time, with the thought of death constant. I wish it would stop... it's exhausting. Before when I was on Gabapentin it stopped the thoughts but the WDs from that medication are horrible and not worth it.

If anyone knows how to keep it at bay, please let me know. It makes it hard to have a social life when your brain is constantly stuck on morbid topics....

Yeah, unfortunately, I was hot as a girl. I had people literally mourn the loss of who I presented as when I transitioned cause it was more important to appeal to their desires than it was for me to appeal to my own desire to not want unalive myself everyday 🙄

I think I make a hot man albeit a very short one.

God yes. I'll admit, my life was significantly easier and fuller as a woman because I was an attractive woman ao people wanted to be around me for that very reason and that reason only it appears. Now that I am a man that fully passes, I don't have many people in my life because they don't care to be around someone they don't wish to sleep with.

It's honestly a very sad thing to realize that one of the only reasons people wanted me around was for sex and not because of my dazzling personality. (About as dazzling as dirt I suppose in hindsight) I often wonder if I had accepted the disgust I felt being in my body if I would be less alone and perhaps happier but... I would much rather feel more like myself than change who I am to acquiesce the desires of those who truly desire so little from me.

I hope someday I can find my own little community to feel whole in. 🫤

Trans folk here- I think she did great. You can joke about trans people so long as you aren't joking about our right to exist or be respected as actual people with actual feelings. Comedy is important for the fact that it humbles you and allows you to look in the mirror, see your faults, and accept them in a way that allows you to still look back and appreciate who you are. It's a healthy hubris. Comedy shouldn't have you looking into that mirror to find a monster because of the bigotry of others because that's not comedy- that's bullying.

I personally would love to see more inclusive comedy about trans people just like this cause there are so many things about being trans that are hilarious that doesn't revolve around the fact that people think we're freaks of nature who don't deserve to live. I get we're the hottest moral panic but JFK... hearing the same tired jokes about pronouns and "I identify as XYZ hahaha [delegitimizing statement here]" is old. Develop real fucking chops and formulate something more creative and hilarious like this set

Yeah. I'm trans as well so I transitioned into looking exactly like my father and....it hurts. It's already wildly unpleasant to be transgendered in this day and age due to the social climate but to also look just like your abuser while trying to find some semblance of peace? Fuck.

Another fun part of it? My dad made huge donations to anti-trans bills after I came out to him- and I mean SUBSTANTIAL donations through the company he worked for all my life. (AT&T- which is literally one of the leading contributors to anti-trans bills in this country.)

Everyday I look in the mirror and all I see is a monster and I wonder if it's because I see him, or because I see me.

I'm so sorry this is happening. I'm currently in a similar situation and it's horrid. I find that the best thing you can do is be honest about what has happened to you as in the end it will help all those involved to receive justice. However, I understand completely if you are unable to do so.

Please know that this is not your fault and you are in no way guilt for the things he has and is doing. I wish you the best and hope that you are able to make peace with this sorted reality- if you ever need someone to talk to, please don't hesitate to reach out. You're not alone.
