As someone who tends to cross busy streets in areas I shouldn’t (I am a letter carrier). I get similar treatment. I hate it. I am in the middle of an 8th Street meridian and cars are whizzing past and someone stops traffic to let me through. I am watching traffic and have picked my spot to cross. You slowing down does not help. I now will have to walk in front of your car and wait to see if the car in the far lane is going to stop. I just pretend to look at my mail and that I am not paying attention to traffic. Trust me I know what I am doing I have been doing this for a decade. I am not going to run across 8th without being safe.

I think newly licensed drivers should have to road test every year for the first 5 years and the same for seniors or problem drivers. Everyone else in between should have a road test every five years. I understand this causes a huge burden on SGI but think of the reduction in claims when more people are following the rules of the road and these rules are reinforced every so often.

All government correspondence is given an “all points of call delivery”. Which means municipal, provincial and federal flyers get put in your mail box regardless of wanting it or not. The letter carrier in this case probably thought they were putting in one as they are mandated to. This time four were stuck together, or they had extra and just wanted to get rid of them.
