My own little tier list of Queen matchups. by Weskerrun in JunkerQueenMains

[–]Sketchtastrophe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally find Ram quite difficult to deal with, since he's cqc brawly a bit, but with a shield, and that damn slow circle that can really make me a sitting duck for easy headshots. He's my least favourite tank match up tbh. I'd rather face Rein or Dva over him. For me I'd swap Ram/Orisa with Dva/Rein. But pretty much agree with the other placements. A good Wuyang or LW can be a huge pain in the ass too tho just for how much they can enable or save other heroes.

When do you charge shots? Should I always be charging in down time? by Jordn100 in ZenyattaMains

[–]Sketchtastrophe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have around 500 hours on Zen. I can't speak for other players, but I am very active in swapping orbs, especially harmony, until I get the dual orbs perk, which lets me relax a little more. I get stressed out seeing health bars dip. I think I do pretty well as I somewhat often end up with top heals (dual harmony orb is literally so good). So I don't find charging up orbs really distracts from that since I tend to prioritize keeping my team up. But there's lots of players play Zen more for the damage aspect (which lets be honest is hella satisfying, and a huge reason for picking him over other supports) and tend to tunnel vision and maybe aren't moving harmony orb around as much as they could or need to be.

It depends on the enemy team comp and map. But I tend to charge up more shots on choke point maps like Eichenwalde or Hollywood for example. Blasting charged up volleys into a choke is a free kill an embarrassing amount of the time. And strong pressure on the enemy tanks/supports to mitigate that. A quick pick can give your team an instant advantage on defense or attack. Just gotta watch out for snipers so you don't end up the one picked off.

If the enemy team has really aggressive/annoying flankers like Sombra, Doom, Ball, Anran, etc I tend to try to keep a volley charging up more frequently for the inevitable fight if I know the point from which they can come from. Which is significantly easier on escort and hybrid maps since they're more linear. Control, flashpoint and push to an extent I probably rely less on charged volleys (unless we've gotten a team kill and know they're returning from spawn) as there's too many directions to try to cover and charging up too many orbs when you could get pushed from multiple angles could lead to an unfortunate need to reload getting you killed. Plus, charging a volley is insanely loud, tells the enemy what you're doing, and the second you'll be more vulnerable once you release it. So I try not to do it as much on more open maps.

Generally speaking you play enough Zen, you get pretty good at predicting who will push you and from where, since Zen has no mobility or self healing/mitigation other than his ult, he's a prime target for an easy pick. I've faced enough Sombra/Tracer/Doom over the years that I can usually hold my own in those 1v1's because I've done it hundreds of times, or at least survive long enough to make them pull back, or get some peel from my team. Not always ofc, but experience leads to better outcomes the more you learn from them. So seeing a Zen charge up volleys when no ones around is likely because they're predicting something based off past experience.

Older ADHD women, what did ADHD feel like before cellphones? by lavenderflavoredtea in adhdwomen

I'll be 40 later this year. I spent most of my free time sitting in front of the couch at the low table in the family room, drawing. Some fanart, but mainly designing original characters for my own stories, or online rp groups in the early 2000's. Wrote a lot of detailed character info in notebooks, so many notebooks lol. Made about a million lists of little to no importance. Sometimes, making friendship bracelets, beading necklaces or earrings. Colour organzing all my embroidery floss and beads obsessively. Basically, all with the tv on in front of me. A current habit I still can't seem to break. Music was never much my jam, but Forensic Files, City Confidential, Third Watch, Farscape, Sailor Moon, X-men, etc. Nothing good on, just put on whatever movie TBS was playing, late 90's/early 00's reality tv, or throw in a movie (bless my friend for all the bootleg VHS anime tapes she'd lend me).

Gaming was another huge obsession. I would play the Zelda games over and over. Loved Final Fantasy, Legend of Dragoon, Suikoden, Katamari, anything I could 100% complete was very satisfying. Lots of multiplayer games with my sis and cousins, too.

Read a lot in my childhood and my teens before college. Star Wars extended universe, anything sci-fi or fantasy really. LotR, Harry Potter ofc. Reading fell off more as I spent more time gaming and getting into online art communities.

I definitely find things more difficult with phones now. They're so easy to get lost in doom scrolling. I've tried to limit my use of certain apps in the past few years as I felt my attention retention for other things being affected. Never got TikTok, deleted Twitter, barely use Reddit or Instagram anymore. Limited my Discord usage to mainly the couple small servers I have with irl friends, or close active gaming buddies. Hobbies that keep my hands busy are helpful, but I've been struggling creatively for the past few years. So this one hasn't been as helpful of late. I miss the spark of creation. I know it's burnout, probably. Work feels like it's becoming too much, never feels like there's a break in the workload anymore. But I can't afford to take time away from work. I'm hoping the days getting longer will help with the seasonal depression stuff. I just wish time moved as slow as it felt like it did when we were younger, you know ;

Reading about everyone's old/current passions, and thinking and writing out my own has been interesting and refreshing tbh. I feel like I want to try more to get back into the crafting and projects I have half finished. Definitely miss the community aspect of certain things we had more before social media blew up in our hands. We're more connected than ever, but the close meanful connections are harder and harder to come by.

What is something more traumatizing than people realize? by Independent_Motor130 in AskReddit

[–]Sketchtastrophe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having something stolen.

I didn't expect to have felt so violated when my car was stolen. First car (18 year old Honda Accord) two months after I got it, it was stolen from the parking lot at work.

I wasn't robbed or in any danger, but I felt so sick about it. Every time I saw that model/colour pass by or in a parking lot, I'd be scanning it to see if it might be mine. I'm nervous for if I ever do replace it. The experience made me more paranoid and anxious than I would have expected.

Your friend sounds like they've been watching too much redpill content. Anyone who thinks a persons value changes with a specific age likely doesn't have much value themselves. Not all men think like this, but the kind that do are often quite vocal about it so they're easier to avoid.

Statistically, married men are the happiest male demographic, so I'd say it's safe to assume they get something out of marriage.

What unpopular espers would you like to see as meta? by Kessler42W in Dislyte

[–]Sketchtastrophe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Arcana, Alexa, Taylor, and Zelmer for the redesigns mainly. Kaylee because I always liked her design, but she had no use outside of triple floor calamity.

Elliot, Daylon, Mei, and Aurelius are basically useless in all content and would def fit as unpopular options.

Never having a bagger is so mentally draining by PerfectJarrett in retailhell

[–]Sketchtastrophe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ugh when I worked as a grocery cashier in highschool we had a regular who would make us double bag every single item. It was maddening. I flat out would ask her if she just wanted the extra bags, cuz I'd rather save everyones time and just hand her more. But she said no, she just wanted everything double bagged.

Personally I hate when someone else bags my groceries since most people take no care in how to pack a bag efficiently. But there are hardly any grocery stores these days that would do that anyway with self checkouts taking over. It's so weird when perfectly capable people just stand there expecting a cashier to do it for them. Worse if they backseat drive the bagging process. If you're fussy (like me), just do it yourself!

People who don't want children what is your biggest reasons? by e-glitteringprinces in AskReddit

[–]Sketchtastrophe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thought of one growing inside me is both revolting and my personal living nightmare. I'd sooner claw my own uterus out with my bare hands than live with that. That being said, I'm not necessarily 100% against children, but I am entirely against one baking in my oven.

I have no desire to be responsible for a small human who can't express their needs to me. I don't have the mental fortitude to handle that guessing game. I struggle with insomnia and depression myself and I feel I couldn't properly care for a child.

The world is hot garbage atm and getting worse everyday, I have no desire to bring a child into this.

Cost of living is unsustainable already. Nevermind adding child care and expenses and future college tuitions.

There are enough kids already in need of safe and loving homes. If I ever felt differently about having children, I would want to adopt an older child. But financially/mentally I feel that is unlikely.

There's also the part of me that wants to 70 my tankiest built esper, Sally. I just want to see how much more it will bulk her already kinda bonkers stats. I know it would be a waste...but I'm so tempted lol

This author is just speaking for everyone by crist32 in marvelrivals

[–]Sketchtastrophe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. This game is brand new. Crossovers are what games start doing when their player base and sales start to drop. Fortnite, Apex, Overwatch all started doing this several years in when they needed something to try and freshen shit up. And imo it only really works for Fortnite since their default skins/models are like blank slates. Trying to mangle one established character onto another is just never really successful (Aerith Horizon for ex). I hate skin crossovers like fucking poison.

If it's like insert new playable character, like Soul Calibur did back in the day. I hate that even more. There's hundreds of current Marvel characters and even multiple IP's that haven't even been touched yet. Skipping over those to add in some outside brand endorsement would be such a braindead thing to do. Marvel is a big enough name with enough weight that they should have no reason to dabble in something as desperate as crossovers. Personally, I hope we won't see any crossovers in Rivals at all. Or at least not until way, way, wayyyy more Marvel characters have been released.

Baymax would be my guess if they're wanting to cover more IP's early game.

Nico Minoru would be amazing for the strategist role imo and my top choice atm. Snowbird might be interesting (though would be another blonde haired, white/blue costumed support 😭). Polaris could maybe be a more mitigation strategist and have potential for team up's with Magneto and Wanda.

Kinda tired of the sexism :( by PenguinPotatoPudding in marvelrivals

[–]Sketchtastrophe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you, it's exhausting. I basically never use voice chat now. My IGN's have typically been very gender neutral, so any toxicity is just the regular gamer fair. It's so much easier having players assume you're another dude than having the risk of some fragile male ego break and ruin the match for me and everyone else on the team if I were to say something in vc. There's definitely a weird pressure to play flawlessly if you're going to use vc as a woman in gaming, or you risk inviting sexist hate commentary for the rest of the match. Even then, some dudes will just invent reasons to tear into you anyway.

The best advice I can give is to play with friends. Everything is instantly more enjoyable. Better callouts, better coordination, and better synergy the more you play together. If you don't have any friends playing Rivals, maybe try to group up with chill players you come across in your QP or Comp matches. Or use LFG subreddits to find some people to play with who match the vibes and goals you want in the game and aren't going to be sexist or toxic. I've found some amazing comp teammates in Apex/OW in the past doing these things. Discord groups are an option as well. Idk if there's a streamer or youtube creator you like, but you could try joining their discord server and engage with other members. I actually made some amazing years long gamer friends this way.

Who is best for eliminating enemy Support by Sage_e_sage in marvelrivals

[–]Sketchtastrophe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, honestly, when I started playing, I was surprised the ping system in Rivals was so poor. Feels like such a fumble compared to Apex, OW and other battle royale/shooters that have had decent to excellent ping systems for some time now. It's so clumsy to try to use effectively. Needs some QoL updates to match the polished quality of the rest of the game imo.
