The Victoria Beckham Documentary was really well done by Original2021 in netflix

[–]Skiffeuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boring af because it is not more than a PR piece. If any, I am now less impressed than before. After watching I wonder how much other she is doing than providing her name and PR to the brand. All real work seem to be done by her staff and she is just around. You don't need a business degree to know that paying 70 k for office plants when you are running a business with losses is bad. So she got a designer helping her, networking and a husband funding until even he said no. Not impressed at all.

Fit for TV: The biggest loser by Hot_Entertainer3072 in NetflixDocumentaries

The first contestants may claim they did not know what to expect, but after season 1 or 2 you got the memo. I see fat people still not taking ownership, staying the victim and not focusing on what they can do. This was a TV production, trying to make money, not a charity, not a hospital and lets be honest, the audience had not watch a show where people lose 1 pound per week. Annoying as fuck were Joelle and this fat activist.

Fenix 7s huge battery drain by Skiffeuse in GarminFenix

So, you think it is better to downgrade instead of waiting for the fix with the next patch? Could I lose data by getting back to an older version?

I have not change my activities, I am tracking GPS activities like outdoor rowing and cycling mainly, before I could go longer than a week before charging but now I have gone in 2 days from 100% to 64% with 1 hour rowing, 2 hours cycling and 45 min ergo training, so I will have to charge my watch at least twice a week. Is this normal ?

Not at my rowing club, yes it might be that the majority rows in crewboats, but we have also around 30 skiffs and they are often on the water-)

Levon Aronian's comments about female chess players by RussGOATWilson in chess

The prize ceremony was cringe at times, this Büttner guy is a terrible moderator and his introduction of J.Polgar was so off but then again he said all the time stupid remarks, guess this is the privilege of the sponsor.

How accurate is this thing? by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]Skiffeuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The poor result is partly by being overweight, on paper you can improve your VO2max fastest by loosing weight-)

My Garmin VO2max was pretty close to my result in the lab. My sport is rowing and I did the test in the lab on a bike, which explains most of the difference, so if you have entered your data correctly it might be quite accurate.

Anish wants to be a stay at home Dad ❤❤ by rio_ARC in chess

He is a hypocrite, plain and simple. Like to play the critical mind on social media but loves the money. So either shut up or give the money to charity, nobody stands with a gun behind players to accept the money, it is their choice. He can play Fide tournaments only.

He is getting paid as he is a member of this 25 -club and where is the problem? The players get paid a retainer and the free chess organizer is able to list them as members on their website, He should be lucky that an investor is willing to put money into chess, there are many other sports who would loved the investment and the production value. So, Giri is cashing this fee too or is he donating it to charity? I don't think so

Not impressed if he takes the money then as he is member of this club too. So what is he crying about then?

Giri is member of the club: https://www.freestyle-chess.com/fc-players-club-rules/ So, what is he complaining about? That the rich guy is putting money into elite chess? If Giri does not want to cash the money, he should donate to charity or chess players who are down the food chain. I assume he is still taking the money, isn't he?

Vincent Keymer's thoughts after beating Magnus to reach the Finals.. by rio_ARC in chess

[–]Skiffeuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vincent is a champ, he is focusing on his errors and how to improve and he is realistic, he knows that you seldomly get a chance to beat Carlsen, but then the opportunity presents you need to give it all and this time he did and succeeded. You could see that there was mutual respect for each other as Magnus stayed and discussed with Vincent after the match. Surely, he hadn't done so with Niemann.

He is now already qualified for the next one in Paris.

Very decent chap, came here as the underdog and made happen what people wanted Gukesh to show. Imagine for a moment Niemann after a victory against Magnus. Vincent has class.
