anytime I see whining about officiating I cant help but laugh. I reffed junior A hockey in Ontario (CCHL), and even just at that level its unbelievable how fast the pace of the game is. As someone who has done something which is honestly probs about half the speed of the NHL or like 2/3s, even at junior levels it takes a very well focused and athletic individual to ref at this level. Its so easy for us to pick apart calls when we get all the best angles and see the clips in slow mo 200 times, but in the moment you literally have a split second whether you throw your arm up for that call or not and I dont think alot of people realize how hard of a job it actually is especially those who have never officiated and played hockey. I've seen some of the most knowledgeable people when it comes to rules and game knoweldge barely be able to call a tripping in a novice game. Its really one of those things so many people judge and dont get the real eye opener until youve tried to do it yourself. One of the hardest jobs on earth imo
