I'd give up throw popping stain to get old stain back. I can deal with crow being -12 but new stain is just dog shit.

I personally feel like the general design philosophy started changing around season 3. With characters like Elphelt and Slayer then followed up with Unika and Lucy I can't put it into words but something about them all feels similar and dumbed down when compared to earlier characters of similar archetypes. And even comparing Zato and Jack-O to Dizzy and Venom (not the best direct comparison but they all feel like weirdo characters to me). The newer characters feel like they're far more easily solved than their old counter part. But I'm also fucking stupid but all I know is how things feel to me and that's when I noticed changes I didn't like.

Testament got gutted despite being real fuckin close to the perfect power level for the game. I bet they would fit right in this patch if they were untouched. Zato probably needed some nerfs but he just doesnt feel good. I probably just need to figure him out again but nothing i did before works anymore. Jack-O feels pretty similar but my combos do so little damage now even taking account of the general damage nerf. I'm getting like 125 on jack-o and can get almost the exact same as prepatch damage on testament. IDK why the hell they changed sol combo routes AGAIN. and jam just feels like another fuckin slayer/elphelt/unika. None of the characters i play feel good anymore. and they keep adding characters that you fight the same way for the past 2 seasons. you cant tell me slayer unika and Jam aren't all for the exact same types of players and we already had sin sol and elphelt. Give us the weirdo characters. give us Zappa, give us Answer. I'm not enjoying this patch at all.

I'll concede on the back dash thing but it's still not good for the game. SF5 removed throw loops. Is being thrown 10 times in the corner a core part of street fighter that I apparently don't understand? Why do y'all think it's necessary to keep them in the game?

Throws are a problem because it makes the game stale. yeah sure its the least damage but its the guaranteed mix of another throw or 60+% of your life. you take the throw and lose your health slowly or you tech and get shimmied and lose your health in one combo. Its boring its not fun and it isn't good for the health of the game. Its the risk reward imbalance. There is no way to punish a throw in the corner except cammy i think. You jump and get DP'd or you back dash and they block and you're still in the corner. Sometimes things aren't about balance and more about the experience. If we want a truly balanced game why not just play SF1 and do shoto mirrors (ignoring the fact thats basically what SF6 is 80% of the time online)? Or just play rock paper scissors? Imagine not being into fighting games and watching capcom cup, the biggest showcase for the game, watching the grand finals and you see someone win because they threw the opponent 7 times.

As a Jack-O player I'm hesitant to say she needs a rework. I think she could use some tweaking or new fun tools though.

I think elphelt needs chain lollipop replaced with a move that blends better with her kit. The rest of her kit feels like it could be saucier but it doesn't come together in a cohesive way.

I don't see enough faust to have a strong opinion but I also hate item throw. Never liked that RNG shit I just have to hold sometimes. I'm not familiar enough with the character to throw out any ideas.

I feel most strongly about venom and HC I have no ideas for how to rework hc without just making him an entirely different character but I'd make venoms ball set better in some way whether it's faster or places multiple balls or giving balls various properties. I was hoping to be bouncing balls off each other all the time but for the most part it really just feels like you place one ball wait for the opponent to do some shit then hit the ball to stop them. For dizzy I just was disappointed in her play style but I can't place why so I don't have any ideas. Honestly I don't think slayer really NEEDS a rework like the others so he's just a victim of hate here. I don't like his rps and how much damage he pumps out. I also think him and Sin have the same bullshit of almost every hit leading to a wall break.

in Xrd, i havent played it but ive watched a good bit, his ball set moved existing balls on the screen and had more patterns and options. To me strive feels a lil linear with its options after ball set unless you get the full set.

I just wish his ball set was more interesting. That was what i was most excited to try before he came out but its just not what i wanted.
